I'm seeing my bank on Wednesday this week coming, but I was hoping some of you smart cookies might be able to answer a question I have regarding a car loan, so I can go in better informed.

I'm upgrading my vehicle, as well as upgrading the vehicle of my missus. It's been determined I can comfortably afford the amount I need to borrow (for example, $50,000).

If I go ahead and borrow the $50,000, can I split it (eg: use $28,000 to pay for my car and $22,000 for my missus' car), or does the sum I borrowed have to be spent in one place?

I hope my question makes sense.

Dunno but most banks will take an equitable lien over the car (you know the REVS register). So it makes sense to me that they will want to know full details of any car purchased from funds released from a personal loan.

Do your homework first (like you are now) because you want your personal loan application to be accepted first go. Any rejected PL application will go on your credit history.

Thanks, mate.

I suppose the other way to go is to use the equity in my apartment and pay it off quickly.

Hopefully it's all clarified on Wednesday!

Well using your equity in your asset will be a huge difference in interest rates or the actual amount you repay the bank on top of the $50k. Not sure what unsecured PL rates are these days, however I expect that they are double at the very least that of your home loan.

You just need to be disciplined and ensure that you repay the $50k over say 5 years, rather than over 25 or 30 years that your home loan would offer. Hope that makes sense.

Yep- definitely makes sense.

I think if I were to use my equity, that's exactly what I'd do - pay off the car loans in 5 tears, otherwise I'm just burning money away.

Hopefully the meeting goes well on Wednesday!

Just stumbled on this gif... doesn't make any sound, but it's quite entrancing.

Lol, until the recent Instagram Daddy relevantions, there was always a risk that pics of Jarryd might appear tagged as "Queen"...

I'd actually forgotten what I was looking at yesterday... but I think I was browsing some music review websites, and there a new (old) Queen CD out (On Air/Live BBC Sessions) and it was part of someone's review?

Very, very interesting!

It's curious that science seems to be finding ways to provide answers for areas historically assigned to the theological realm.

It's very exciting indeed.

I'd like to believe it Avy but I am not 100% convinced just yet.

The video in the article which shows the 'soul' leaving the body after a car accident is a fake btw. Just did a quick check.
