Well RO does not kill bacteria as far as I am aware. I think it more purifies water and removes toxins like osbestos,lead etc.. People prefer RO with UV as Uv would kill salmonella, typhoid,flu, hepatitis and other bacteria.
My knowledge on it isn't high but I work with a guy who deals with it and has own range.

No..... It's a friend's business. He has a domestic range but mainly does commercial. Indoor pools, sewerage plants etc.
