Probably because merkins enjoy being outraged over others being outraged. The 24/7 news cycle laps up outrage these days.

At the end of the day Allens want to be a nice family brand and be the first choice for parents when it comes to giving their kids obesity. Good on them.

It's frustrating when corporations pander to one group of whingers over another, but the 'pandered to' whingers do have the moral high ground here. What if Allen's milk bottles were called white merkins? It'd be funny but I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't think so. They'd want it changed, especially in this climate of grievance.
