And why are you so keen to bring up someone else's situation from the past? Why are you owed an explanantion? What is truth in an online forum environemnt, and would you even believe it if truth was presented to you? It certainly seems you're reluctant to accept (and get easily offended by) views that are different from your own pre-conceived notions, on many other matters - which is how all this started almost 48 hours ago.

I get the point that Hanson is trying to make about the threats to the reef being overstated because it is part of broader conversation about climate change and fossil fuels. But, she is stretching things a bit to say that "everything is fine".

There is no escaping that the GBR is showing signs of stress due to anthropogenic influences. The northern section (where she didn't dive) had a major bleaching event recently and a lot of scientists (even sensible ones) are rightly concerned. Very smart media stunt though. She knows how to stay relevant doesn't she?

Being a "reef expert" or a "reef custodian" is big business these days. Photos of you wearing a snorkel and mask score big credibility points.
