The media are going ape-shit over Beau Ryan's "incredible act of kindness" for a dying girl.

I'm guessing he donated a kidney ? Amazing gesture.

Wait what ? Oh he visited a sick girl in hospital. Nice, but hardly incredible.

Ch9 publicity machine working overtime IMHO after a dodgy year for Ryan with racist jokes and an alleged affair.

Someone called out to him to fulfil a dying wish and he dropped everything and went there.

That is incredible and she wasn't sick, she had hours to live.

For someone so protective of illegal boat people and how the poor American people will fare under Trump, you obviously care little for an actual Australian who's dying wish was for Ryan to see her and he made it happen.

All we see is shit about bad things happening and the second something positive is reported it is a PR machine?

FMD!

Suggesting that my comment on media hyperbole and PR spin means that that I don't care about dying children is idiotic.

It always astounds me when do-gooders like yourself hassle someone who does something so selfless.

I thought the first TV series was pretty good. Having seen the movie doesn't really matter either way.

It's definitely better than Little House on the Prairie, but not as good as Deadwood.
It's worth watching whether you've seen the movie or not. There is one part in season 1 that references a scene from the movie but that's about it.

Both seasons 1 and 2 of Fargo are brilliant television IMO, some of the best of the last decade, beautifully shot, and like the movie, have a great balance of drama and black humour. highly recommend
Cheers, guys. I think I'll give it a go. Better than LHOTP is a big call though.

How many dying children have you visited this week?

Nice try. My point is the hyperbole around it. I am sorry if I am coming across insensitive, But (our players for example) plenty do that sort of stuff weekly and sadly we have heard stories at home games of kids at Westmead passing.

I am merely making comment on the frenzy of him doing the same thing has stirred up.

Actually I agree with your assessment. I was surprised this was considered news myself.

It's news because it is a feel good story and he dropped everything to go and fulfil a dying wish.

You used to have to go through a make a wish type of foundation, now that people are easily accessible on social media this played out on there.

It is in the news because a large majority of people showed interest and that has driven the news. It was organic and just one of those things that happens and is news worthy.

If it was manufactured I'd get it but this was just an off the cuff request and response and shows the good in him. Why not celebrate it?

Fancy someone doing something nice for a dying girl, that Beau Ryan really is a nasty pride of work.

It was a really great thing he did and he should be congratulated for it.

But he may have had an affair (if he did his wife has seemed unfazed about it the whole time) or said something sensitive people consider racist, so channel 9 are just trying to make him look good by given someone a terminal disease so he could give her a dying wish to meet someone she admires.......

People are praising him, so Gronk has to put it down.......it's taking up valuable Trump bashing space in the media!

I'm not saying it's not a good thing I just doubt that any of the other channels covered it.
