The term "Christmas" hasn't been used in the US in everyday parlance when referencing this time if year for a long time, it's nothing new. I think it might have been so as not to offend those of Jewish faith initially. I remember going there with my folks in December 1991. We were at the shops with my Aunty who lives lives there and when my old man was finished paying for whatever he was buying, the shop assistant says, "thankyou sir, happy holidays". My old man turned to my Aunty and asks "how did she know we're on holidays?!"

All made sense when my Aunty explained the situation...

As they don't get the same annual/recreation leave as Australia maybe happy holidays is related to this as it's the time they do take holidays ( Annual /Rec Leave) as it's not compulsory under any laws or legislation for employers to offer paid leave

I’m a proud Australian with a Serbian background and I love going back to the old country every so often. I really enjoy myself and have true affection with my country of birth. However when I read about this exemption it simply does not pass the pub test and I realise just how Australian I am. Novak is a great tennis player but his stance and this exemption is bullshit.

I reckon he has read the room poorly. The VIC crowds who have worked so hard and scarificed to save lives won’t tolerate rich n famous queue jumpers.

He is a fit human who doesn't feel like he needs the medicine. Aslong as he is tested I don't see an issue. Plus we have what 60,000 cases a day. How does it make any difference if he is vaxxed or not?
I have been dosed. I am not going to discriminate against friends who haven't. I am confused why some do. It's their risk isn't it of fall ill.

You are missing the point. It's not about if he is vaccinated or not, whether he will infect anyone or not. He is a queue jumper and made no sacrifices like the poor bastards had to endure in Victoria. His sense of entitlement is what pisses people off.
