I'd love to see them play against each other.......I'd guess the men would destroy them.

You are right, we just don't seem to be able to say women are inferior at something to men, regardless of facts.

Men don't get upset when people say women are better at ironing or cooking and stuff......just kidding.

There are many things that women are just as good at or better than men at but the top level of sports that both men and women compete in there is no chance that women would beat them.

Swimming and Athletic times are evidence. Watching the quality of women's tennis and cricket is obvious.

Of course if us on the forum took on the jillaroos they would destroy us but from the top level there isn't a chance the females would beat the males.

If that makes me a sexist pig, so be it.

I'd say rating/interest pretty much tells you what the majority of people think from an entertainment point of view.

Do I believe that women shouldn't be allowed to play the sports? Absolutely not, they should pursue what they love and they absolutely have talent and when I see them playing I am entertained enough.

Women obviously have no interest in watching though (which is extremely disappointing) otherwise there would be massive interest from networks and sponsors and there wouldn't be the women fighting for a bigger slice of the pie.
Mate you have pretty much taken that straight out of my mind.

I don't care if they get paid more if that is what the market wants. But at present they, just like the junior boys, can enter the open (mens) comp if they think they need more money.
All four slams now pay equal prize money I think. I don't think it's got much to do with the market though.

I didn't know the women could enter the men's draw. I wonder if they can enter both, schedule permitting.

I'm all for making the women's grand slam matches five sets. It's a bit condescending to think that they can't.

Alongside that should be equal pay. Same work = same pay.

I'm sure they can play five sets. But I also think most people don't want to watch that. The 'fairest' solution is probably what we had before the PC brigade got involved and ended up embarrassing the tournaments into paying equal prize money. The market was what determined the prize.

One man runs a shoe factory that turns over 5million a year. Another man runs a competing shoe factory that turns over 2 million a year. They both do the same work, should they get equal pay? Or does the man who does it better deserve more?

There is no doubt the men are better players than the women. The top ranked woman wouldn't go anywhere near the top 100 men. Surely those better players deserve more?

Sure, but are you 100% sure men consistently bring in more $$$ at grand slams, which is what I was referring to?

I'm not.

The only evidence they provided where women attracted more was 1 US Open final where the women's final had a US player (Serena) where the mens didn't and the mens final was up against the NFL's massive monday night footy. The rest indicated that the men bring in more $

Not sure you read my post correctly. I'm saying they can absolutely play 5 sets.

I haven't pushed a baby out personally (Not having a womb and all), but I was there for the birth of my two girls. Such an insane experience and you find out in no uncertain terms that women can go through a lot more than Men.

In 2015, the U.S. Open women's tournament, which featured a nail-biting showdown between Serena and Venus Williams, sold out more quickly than the men's tournament. In 2013 and 2014, the women's U.S. Open final garnered higher TV ratings than the men's final. In 2005, the Wimbledon final between Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport drew 1 million more viewers than the showdown between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick.

Probably because the physical differences (in size and strength) don't matter so much. And it is actually preferable to be smaller/lighter
Yeah. Men are stronger and faster, in general. Only a fool denies that. I suspect there are other sports where men and women could compete on an equal footing though, like archery or shooting. Part of the reason for men dominating in supposedly equal sports though is imo the participation numbers.

No womb? Disappointing.
