Totally weird that they shot a mad merkin at the Louvre considering that I was there a month ago. There is a mall underneath with high end shops and cafes. You need to go through bag xray etc before you get in and they must have got him then.

Some are saying terrorist already, but nothwithstanding his background and motives, he was never going to get in as the joint (the whole of Paris actually) is saturated with machine gun cops or soldiers.

Got any stats for grand slam finals where there are the same amount (or no) countrymen in the final? Or are you just going to cherry pick 2 specific US open finals - one where it was an all American women's final and the other that had no American men. French open, Wimbledon? How about the Australian open ?
Read the last sentence of my post for not only a Wimbledon reference, but one where there were no countrymen or women in the final.

All I'm saying is that the ratings coming in depends on the players involved, not so much the standard of tennis.

Are you now happy for the women's prize pool for the US Open to be more than the men's?

Ok here are some stats from a more wide selection of grand slams (this article also mentions what I was saying about the obvious home countrymen getting higher ratings):

No surprise the highest rating aust. open final had hewitt in it it http://www.theaustralian.com.au/bus...h/news-story/05c987b7fd1d0e7fffdea8430c2ed19e

Australia's men's 7's team sucks - the only advantage they would have is size and [therefore] power.

I think it's a crying shame there's not more women's sport on TV - I'm thoroughly enjoying the women's football, and cricket.

That is a pretty big advantage though.

I agree with you though, it would be great to live in a world where women's sport is respected at the level of men's sports, a large part of that is engaging women though.

Women don't seem as interested as they should be imo, which as I pointed out earlier is disappointing as many of those same women will complain about women not being recognised enough.

Yeah. My first inkling was mental health, rather than terrorism. Kind of like our own Lindt Cafe nutcase.

I'm watching Caddyshack atm and despite being a Chevy Chase fan, I have to say, it's not very funny.

I'm so glad I got that off my chest. I feel like a great weight has been lifted.

I was a Chevy Chase fan.
Then I found out he's a complete f**kwit.

Vacation is still f**king hilarious though.

I never particularly liked him, but there's an obscure early 70s film called The Groove Tube that I saw (admittedly I was half cut) that I thought was hilarious. Haven't seen in it again....probably completely lame.
