I am on day 3 of 12 at Nambucca Heads. We have done our annual holidays on the mid-North Coast for the last 5 years or so.
Before that was always Sth Coast (Huskisson and Kiama).

I lived at Callala Bay in the early '90's.
Love Jervis Bay.
Callala Bay was my weeks holiday last year with the teens. I again explored so many quiet parts of the bay on my own.
Such an amazing area.

I’ve stayed there on the road to Byron. Just after that bar/restaurant on the bayside where you hire the kayaks.

I used to snorkel/swim with dolphins every day and then get my spear gun out and get me some dinner (after the dolphins had passed by of course).

I lived 50 metres from the water away from the little beach and boat ramp side of Callala.

I didn’t know you could eat dolphin. 🐬 😉

You eat dog when you’re on land too?

Callala is my favourite part of jervis bay. So quiet in comparison to the other parts. I’d love to own a place there.

Pottsville and Cabarita are magic as well.

Had friends who lived at Pottsville and loved staying there, they then moved to Kingsclff and loved staying there also, they have now moved to Tweed Heads and haven't visited them there yet. To be honest though haven't been up that part of the coast since 2009 or 2010. A trip up there is long overdue.

Once they finally get the Ulladulla and Nowra bypasses up and running it'll be a dream driving down the coast.

It's still years away, unfortunately, but it'll take our drive from Balmain to Narooma to around 4.5 hours. The new Westconnex tunnel/Rozelle Interchange has already cut 25 minutes off our trip.

Yes i wonder if i will be still alive when the Nowra by pass is finally done, it has been talked about for years but so far nothing, at least the land to the West of the township has been reserved for the possible by pass, the new bridge really doesn't do much to alleviate any of the traffic currently.

The Albion Park by pass is great, didn't realise i was even on it the first time i drove on it.

Gundagai-Tumut-Adaminiaby-Berridale is a beautiful drive.
Highly recommended. Lots of great stops to see along the way. Including Yarrangobilly Caves and the thermal baths.

Have friends who bought a half share in the Orient Hotel in Tumut so want to stay there then drive down to Bega from there of course visiting Yarrangobilly Caves while there also.
Even if we don't do the drive to Bega from there a few days/ night in Tumut and a visit to the caves would be good.

Done it already but in the opposite direction. Wonderful country. Found time to stop in at the Wildbrumby Schnapps distillery just outside Jindy and the Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery near Dalgety. The drive on the dirt Rd from Berridale was worth the trip on its own.

Yea same. It was a couple years ago and I was driving to kiama. All of a sudden I was there. Nowra definitely needs to be done. Hate driving through there. As does Coffs up North.

You just come to a screaming halt when you hit Bomaderry driving from the North or the industrial area coming from the South, it is just horrid.

Last time i drove through Coffs Harbour going further north was either 2009 or 2010 and it was shit fight then but was just up the coast November just gone staying at Grassy Head and the weather was a bit iffy so we decided to drive up to Coffs Harbour to have a look again , drove in through Sawtell on the way up as we were going to the jetty area for lunch, after that we headed back towards town to have a look around, after being totally underwhelmed with the main strip got back in the car and started heading back south through the main street, better half said when do we get back on the highway, i just laughed and said this is the highway, the main street of town just like it has been for the last 50 years or so i can remember.

Another choke point that i hate driving north is where the M1 stops near Beresfield then you have take the next section of road to Hexham then cross the river towards Heatherbrae . At least work has finally started on improving that section. The last couple of times coming back from up north you come to a screaming halt a couple of km before the Hexham Bridge.

The sour apple schnapps is delicious. The Jindy Brewery’s worth a visit as well if you’re still down that way.

What’s the water temp?

This was the temp at Noosa the other day.
Offically it's about 23deg. But I find it varies depending on the beach you are at and how close to the entrance you are. eg it's usually warmer here at Huskisson and Callala than it is out near Greenpatch in Booderee Nat park. The water in the bay circulates clockwise so there can be variations day to day as well.
