There were platforms in the water for people to get onto and make a sort of 'shallow end', and the rest seemed like it was open for swimming. It was a warm day, so it was surprising that no one was swimming, but I was there pretty early in the day.

I think the platforms were there last i went but there was no netting. Funny though, even 7-8 years ago it looked like it was almost ready to be set up for a swimming spot but has stayed like that since.

anyone been to Greenwich point baths? going there with my partner tomorrow just wondering what parking is like?

I would be checking the water quality there after the rain yesterday, its got the yellow signal today on the beach watch site and other nearby spots just west in the Parramatta and Lane Cove river have the red flags.

I can’t recall if it was last year or the year before, but there was a video circulating of a shark in narrabeen lake

And on a side note, did you hear of the 1.5 metre jewfish caught in the lake a couple weeks ago?

Just found a video link to the Jewfish, you would be happy catching that anywhere but in the shallows of Narrabeen lagoon you wouldn't be expecting it.

I don't think you can call them jewfish anymore. Probably the same reason why you can't call me a Mediterranean Descendant. Even though we have now claimed it and use it like the African Americans and the N word.

I often stay at the caravan park there for a staycation without leaving Sydney but i haven't fished in the lagoon when i have stayed at the park. Fished the lagoon a couple of times back in the 80 s and caught a reasonable flathead pretty close to the spot where that jewie was caught. The other time i fished the under the bridge near the shops. every one was catching whiting that day but i pulled out a nice fat bream and also an estuary perch.

I know it was probably tongue in cheek but unless it’s in reference to being tight, I don’t think Jews really have much of a problem being referred to as a Jew. It certainly doesn’t have the same connotations as negro

I’m being facetious. I don’t find it offensive. But I’m pretty sure fisheries changed the name of them to Epsteins or something.
