I went to a co-ed school and was not distracted by girls in the slightest.
It was just normal having them there. If there was a hot girl in my class, you'd have a look over, say hello, and then get on with your work. Maybe talk to her after class.

We are not animals. We can control ourselves. We weren't sitting there staring at the girls all through class. If anything it was my guy mates who were more distracting, chatting about sports or whatever.
Same.

Well biologically speaking, yes we are. Your insinuation that "animals" behave somehow worse than the so-called intelligent human species, is misguided IMO. On the whole, I would assert the rest of the animal kingdom behave better than humans...

But to get back on topic.... To all those protesting for or against the idea of changing their alma mater to co-ed I say

Same. I went to all boys years 7-10 and mixed yr11 and 12.
Heaps of wacking off to the female teacher but in the all boys years. I reckon the female teachers loved it. All these horny boys fantasising about them

My point more so relates to the energy and bond I had with my mates being at an all boys school would probably not have been the same had there been girls there.

There is a special energy between boys and men when in a group. You are loud, cracking jokes, obnoxious, stirring each other up. You are essentially being your full masculine self. As you get older these experiences are less and less.

Hence Why I look back so fondly on my high school days.

Either way that is just my experience and perspective. Maybe other men don't feel the same?

Ok, you got me on a technicality there.

Male animals are known to just walk up to the females, jump on their back and start f**king them. It's not really controllable behaviour.

Sure, there are quite a few males in the human species that does this, but they are in the vast minority.

I was, my brains were in my dick

As it is with most teenage boys.
And yet we seemed to be able to control ourselves. I'm all good with all-boys schools if that's what people want, but I don't really understand the notion that they will get distracted too much if there are girls around.

If you are easily distracted then you'll get distracted by anything, including your male friends.

Yeah, I get it.

But then I had the same experience with my mates in high school.
We mostly hung out as boys, playing footy or basketball together, having card games, putting shit on each other as mates do. There were girls around, but that didn't stop us doing 'masculine' stuff. When we wanted to hang with the girls we were able to do that too.

I wasn't a big fan of school, but I loved hanging with my mates. I'm still friends with a lot of them.

It’s not just about distraction but all the negative emotions surrounding the dating game. Just telling people to have self control doesn’t remove the emotions, it only affects the behaviour. We don’t just tell people who are scared of everything to “be brave”, we shape society to help them feel safe so they don’t have to be brave. It should be the same with negative emotions like jealousy and frustration. “Deal with it” is not a recipe for social harmony.

What if we where programmed to behave in a way that it was seen as normal. How do you think males would behave?
Humans are programmed. That we can all agree on. We are weapons of mass consumption

Nature is at least as much a factor as nurture. We aren't robots. Or if we are, we have been programmed over millions of years.

Tv,social media,advertising,Schools,books etc
They influence how we think and behave..tell what is good amd bad right or wrong. Most our thoughts aren't original.
Just a delayed mirrorimg of seed that was planted prior

This isn't about 'the dating game'. This is about being in a society, in which women make up half. Sure, you can't just tell someone not to have emotions, but they sure as shit can learn to understand and control them and it's better to do this at a young age rather than send them off as adults with no way to understand how to behave because they haven't spent enough time in that position.

Yeah, I'd say it's different for everyone?

While still hung in groups of their own gender in my co-ed school's playground - and I had male friends and obviously enjoyed their company etc - the friends I've stayed in contact with the longest have been the girls the I was lucky enough to meet in co-ed schools.

I sure as heck was glad I'd had that school experience relating to girls/women as people (and treating them with respect), before I hit the pubs/clubs, university and the workplace.
