For once in my life I agree 100% with George Brandis.

I look forward to David Leyonjhelm rocking up to the next sitting dressed as a Carmelite nun or Hasidic Jew.

The argument merkins use to have them banned is that women are forced to wear them. I doubt that they have ever even talked to a woman who wears one. Smokescreen for bigotry IMHO.

So not one is forced to wear one? You've talked to all of them? Sure some wear them voluntarily but a lot also do not. Don't play the "everyone is racist" card like normal.

While I could give a f**k about the stupid reasons why people want them banned (packing bombs etc.) I think they look f**king ridiculous (same as ALL religious headgear) and how the f**k do you survive in summer?

I just don't like any of the religious get ups, male or female but I don't want them banned, I just want to know why a religion requires people the wear these clothes and head dress???

Well it's certainly not in the Koran. That just requires both sexes to dress 'modestly' AFAIK. Practically doesn't seem to apply equally though. Haven't seen to many blokes all boxed up.

So we've established that Hanson was wearing a burka. More importantly though, who was the sensible person wearing a George Brandis suit?

He was insisting that they are all oppressed. If you take that broad view and insist upon it, then IMHO you have an ulterior motive.

The argument is clear. One's socioeconomic status determines his/her experience of multiculturalism. It's not all about you. You just happened to be the perfect example.

I agree with Pou to be honest. There would be 2 very different worlds that people live in.

In the East you get the people who can afford to live there and are generally better educated and driven to succeed for a better life.

Then you have the people in the west where they may not be as educated and treat life completely differently with different motives.

It would be very hard for people like Gronk to understand this.

And when people are struggling financially they are far more likely to seek solace in group identity. This is where you get jihadists, Nazis and BLM-type fascists.

Of course it's not equal, their culture is male dominating. Whether people want to admit it or not and at some point one of the pigs would have thought it was a great idea to put them in headgear to the extent they wear it.

He was insisting that they are all oppressed. If you take that broad view and insist upon it, then IMHO you have an ulterior motive.

Of course they're not all oppressed, they live in this country for a reason!
