I’m in NYC at the moment (been here since Saturday and leave Boxing Day) and i have heard “Merry Christmas” more in that time in the shops and people on the street and even homeless people than i ever have in my lifetime in Australia.

Aren’t we always told Americans don’t say it?

So a week in America and your already sounding like one.

When I was little my parents had a permanent site at Easts Beach Kiama. Not a van but a big army green tent with wooden floors. I don't recall many caravans in the 70s TBA.

Good times anyway.

I could go 5 stars in Paris but i wouldnt feel as comfortable. Some of my best holidays are in a tent with a can of soup and beans.

Reminds me of a time as an apprentice working in a retirement village.
Had to do some work in an old mans bedroom. I walk in and the walls where plastered with cut outs of home blokes.
Then he walks into the room and says why dont you take your pants off as he started taking off his belt.
I jumped out the window, was a close escape.

Perseverance will get you through a horror time whilst travelling 5 stars in Paris mate. Tough it out is my advice.

Honestly do you ever feel like a dickhead being pampered in those fancy places.
Its like this little fantasy world where everyone is pretending to be nice to each other. And you still always have someone who will complain abput there tiniest most insignificant problem....

Just not my thing. Much prefer a cabin.
