Pro boxers is no different to the Dream Team in basketball, tennis players and golfers. But my irk is that boxing was a pathway for good kids to come through. They all had a story of struggle and making good after working hard. Now that is road blocked as millionaires will want a gold medal and take their spots.

Might as well let all soccer players in as well now.

It's a timing thing as well as a pathways thing.

That's the responsibility of the individual sport governing bodies in each country.

Professionals were included in most of the other sports decades ago to acknowledge the reality of modern sport.

If you are getting in because of convoluted selection criteria you aren't a proper Olympian anyway.

Like the alleged victim of Hayne making the Rugby sevens.

No one is entitled to a spot. If you miss out because there is someone better so be it.
