He he. A mate of mine has a framed speeding fine on his lounge room wall.....incurred on Conrod Straight. You were probably at low risk of a fine though I guess.

My neighbour when I was in primary school drove every bathurst. This pick shows him in a Vdub.

Have quick squizz at the Book of Deuteronomy, Twizz. It ain't the best either, if someone wished to take it out of context and use it to justify violence today. Does that make violence/terrorism inherent in our faith? I'd hope not. f**kwits are f**kwits, but why run the risk of tarring every Muslim 'with the same brush' on the basis of some passages of 'the book'.....unless you want to apply the same logic to followers of other faiths?

I could be wrong, but there is a faith who hold Deuteronomy dear who are quite inclined to do some of what it suggests today (relating to land in particular).

I though Quran was read with principal of abrogation - latter passages overrule earlier? Might make Twizz's point more salient

Well, yeh, there are Jewish zealots who use Deuteronomy and the like to justify their land grabs in Palestine. But there are also Jewish people like the bunch of London Jewish builders who travel annually to the West Bank to rebuild Palestinian homes that have been demolished by the Israeli army. Yet they share the same faith. Some of them are f**kwits and some are far from it.

you do realize these people come from war torn countries where where terrorism is inherent in their faith and we are now seeing terrorist attacks in Australia

No its contained in their Qur'an which is why I mentioned their faith, no bullshit about whats in their belly or any other part of their anatomy

Interesting viewpoint, to say the least.... would you care to cite a quote (even an out of context one) where the Quran contains any clear reference to terrorism being an inherent part of the faith?

It's easy to grab onto generalisations and let them become opinions (stereotypes), much harder to be open to context and recognise diversity within any group of people (i.e. moderate vs fundamentalist/extremist).

I find that at times people say they are just voicing an opinion to try and hide the fact they are racist

Are you suggesting anyone standing up against what radicalised Muslims are doing in our country are racist? I'm. Completely against what they are trying to do to our country so are you suggesting I'm racist ?
My best man at my wedding was Croatian, one of my groomsmen Laotian. Three of my best mates are Tongan, aboriginal and Italian. So yes I must be racist.

I heard of that book but it was only from watching Life of Brian, lol

I'm not a Muslim hater as I have some Muslim friends but I do not like their teachings and what is contained therein. I've seen the nasty bits and it does encourage violence against non Muslims.

I know a Muslim lady who gets slated by her family and called a s**t for simply wearing a tank top as she is supposed to dress modestly and in black all the time but those who choose to be more fashionable, or fit into the Aussie culture have their credibility questioned.

I could go into a lot more detail but not here.

Is this a serious post?

http://www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Themes/jihad_passages.html
You can see there the 164 explicit instructions about Jihad. You'll note it discounts the sentences dealing with Mohammed's instructions on those who don't Jihad (etc)

http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm
Here you will note the references to killing infidels 'wherever they hide', and to do things like chop of heads (etc) - and please note that this page is promoting Islam (the previous one was opposing)

That was a just a quick google search....
Now of course there are arguments about issues regarding interpretation - the Muslims themselves have been arguing about that for hundreds of years, I hardly think we'll solve those issues here ourselves! I'm just pointing out that it does, in fact, contain references to support the extremists.

I suppose technically you might be right, and the word 'terrorism' might not appear in the Quran.....

I'm not suggesting anything except exactly what I said. You seem a little defensive, are you concerned that you might be?
