Haven't watched that game since, or the 2001 GF. I might one day after we finally win another comp. Haven't watched the 98 or 99 SF's either :(
Same, can't do it.

I can just bring myself to watch footage of '76 and '77 and '84... but it will be a while before I can handle re-watching '01 and '09.

Random Question... I've always wondered - does the NRL cover the cost of airfares for clubs when they have to fly interstate/to NZ? I assume they would. But on the other hand, if club's decide to take a home game in Perth (a la Souths) or Darwin (like us), does the club taking that game elsewhere then have to cover the costs associated with getting there and accomodation etc?

Usually the games shifted to Perth/Darwin/Cairns etc gain some sponsorship arrangement from the local tourism/business chamber. Teams are paid to play there, so presumably that neutralises the additional costs?

Not sure about playing away games against the Warriors... depending on the draw each year, a team may play them once at home (no extra cost), once away, or once home and once away (all with extra cost). The Warriors themselves and interstate teams have extra costs for pretty much every away game, something the Sydney teams don't incur. Not sure whether or not this cost is equalised/subsidised by the NRL in any way.

Anyone seen Interstellar? Mind blowing shit.

Basically the film is based on the ideas of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne ? specifically the notion that while we observe the universe in three dimensions, there could be at least five dimensions. In certain theories, it is posited that certain forces (in this case gravity) bleed through dimensions ? meaning that, based on Newton?s Laws, what we perceive as a finite calculation could actually have infinite implications.

Saw it at cinemas day before my wife gave birth. I reckon the brilliant music intensity helped bring her along. Need to have speakers on 11 when watching

Do you reckon their plan has been subject to revision Gronk? And (in your opinion) does it have any right to be?

Hopefully they have learned from the stupidity that was the last budget.

I fear however that they have missed the boat and will deliver a budget that is all about re-election rather than dealing with the problems at hand and delivering equitable reform.

$64 question is will they will hit the big end of town this time....

It's impossible for government to 'hit the big end of town'. The whole point of financial security is protection from other people (including governments) sticking their hands in your wallet.

The most successful model to date has been the French Revolution, and plenty of revolutionaries made themselves wealthy off the back of that.

Maybe that's what you're after Gronk? A transfer of wealth from the 1% to the 2%. Is that the kind of 'equitable reform' you're referring to?

You try and hurt the rich you just drive the money away. Ultimately it hurts the economy.

Is that you Joe ? Scared of taxing the rich ?

Trust me. They are just astonished that they can get away with it. They will pay if they have to.

There are three ways to increase taxes on the rich that actually work, and don't drastically distort economic behaviour. 1) Death Duties, 2) Land Tax, and 3) Broad-based consumption taxes. People don't seem to like em though.

We've gone okay until now. Why is there a need for reform to make us like poorer countries?

Just 'time for a change' hey? Because that worked out so well last time.
