Only seen the place from the train or old channel 7 sunday night football games.

That was my first ever footy game live Souths vs Wests at Lidcombe oval with wooden benches.

Dad used to take us to Rose Hill and my bro and I would spend all day picking up all those betting cards.

THen if we were lucky we would get footy cards with the light blue border and pink bubble gum.

Sometimes we get Hubba Bubba!!

we can go watch a few Albie Mangel movies in the evening

talk about childhood memories .... my mum used to take us to all these things during school holidays - I remember going to El Caballo Blanco, Paradise Gardens on some bloody bus organised by the local council or something - and Albie Mangel movies free at the community centre

Red rattler from Dundas, change at Clyde. Lidcombe Oval hasn't changed since those days. You should take some pics.

Where's the best place to grab some Scanlons footy cards. I'm trying to convince my lad how cool they are, especially with the free stick of gum!

And when Wests ditched Lidcombe Oval for Orana Park at Campbelltown, those big white wooden bench/stands were transported from moved out to Orana Park!

Jack Absalom knew where it was at. Either him or Ted Bullpitt.
