There's a shooting in Sydney nearly every day now and we don't have the same gun laws.

Criminals or loonies will get their hands on them regardless.

I'm not advocating they should keep their guns laws cause I do think it's weird that everyone can just carry a gun around but I'm not sure abolishing the law would stop these incidents.

The difference is that we don't have these mass shootings where some emo grabbed his Mum or Dad's gun out of their gun cabinet (probably had a choice of more than 5, in an unlocked cabinet in most cases) and strolled into a school (or public place, like a church, etc.) and opened fire.

We get those maybe once a decade if that. Very rare.

There's a reason for that, gun control. If you don't have easy access to guns, it's less likely shootings like these will happen.

Of course we still have shootings all the time, so does everywhere, and it's not like gun control laws make it impossible for people to obtain guns, but it remove the instance of "I'm mad, oh look, there's a gun on the desk, weeee!"

its too late to take back all the guns in america there's so many in circulation now it would be impossible to police

so i propose instead you can have 100 guns, 1000 guns, 100,000 guns as many as you like
here's your 10 bullets once you use those you can have 10 more

Heard a brilliant joke this morning...

A Roman walks into a bar, holds up two fingers and says:

"Five beers please".

Classic. :D

There is no way for sure anyone could say that gun control would solve the mass shootings (or mass deaths) either though. There are 310 million people over there and there is a massive difference between living conditions between rich and poor. Parts of the country are 3rd world conditions. Their mentality is completely different too, that free thinking shit they have causes just as much problems.

Take away their guns and they might just strap bombs to themselves and take a bunch of people out that way.

Like I said take them away but if it doesn't solve the issue, what would be said then?

I read an article the other day where a college girl was raped in Florida during spring break, on the beach in broad daylight while she was asleep by 3 low life's while people (females as well) were right next to it and didn't even give a shit. They only caught them because they filmed themselves and then posted it around and the girls friends saw it and told her. She was drugged and she didn't even know it happened.

And that is all nothing compared compared to what's going on in other parts of the world.

Anybody done the Mt Kosciuszko walk from the top of Thredbo ski lift? I am planning a week long trip through the Snowy Mountains and into Victoria for next February. Going to Crackenback first then up to Tumut then over the border through Tumbarumba. Also going to see if we can get to Echuca, Bendigo etc. Any info would be appreciated.

I planned to do the walk on Boxing Day 2006 or 2007. We had about a foot of snow on XMAS day, and high winds on Boxing Day, so I got about 500 metres from the Eagles Nest and turned back.

FIFA?
Parra?
Labor?
Greece?

Take your pick.

With the ABC, I don't believe they necessarily fulfil what most people think is their "charter" (ie to provide unbiased content to the public). In saying that, we get enough bias from the rest of the media, so I'm almost willing to accept it as an "square-up", if only they'd be honest about it.
