Great stuff Aussies!
Goodbye to Michael Clarke. Been so good to be able to watch him play in the green and gold over the years. At least I still get to see him wear the baggy green.

And I'm so glad Steve Smith has become Australia's premier batsman. I was an advocate of his all through the time when he was getting bagged from every direction. Well done to him.

Same here. I thought he was class the first time I saw him play.

A great story for Fawad Ahmed who came to Australia and sought refugee status and is now an Australian Citizen.

He used to play for Abbottabad in Pakistan. No kidding.

Surprised Voges gets a spot in the Test squads ahead of Burns tbh. The West Indies would have provided a softer opponent and a chance for a younger player like Burns to maybe cement himself in the squad and get further 'Test' exposure. Voges is mid 30's already I believe so his presence n that team is short term at best.

Well done to Peter Nevill. Thoroughly deserves his spot. You could probably mount a case that he deserves his spot on his batting alone and not as a backup gloveman, going on his Shield form from the past couple of years.

Steve O'Keefe continues to be unlucky, but I guess the selectors don't want 2 finger spinners in the main squad so that gives Ahmed his chance. O'Keefe can't have done much more than he has in the past 2 seasons for the Blues. He regularly out-bowled Lyon when both were playing for NSW.

Voges was Sheffield Shield Player of the Year IIRC. Gotta reward form.

Unlucky is Maxwell IMHO. What a talented player.

Voges is 35, I would have much rathered Burns getting the gig. Not sure why Siddle is also picked he has had two tours to England and on the whole been rubbish. Pattinson or Cummins offer a lot more than his 130kms offerings.

Pattinson's injured again I think. Cummins hasn't played anything longer than a 50 over game in about 2 years, so I guess they want to ease him in gradually.

Voges is 35 and will not play a game in England whereas Burns has 2 fifties and gets dropped.

wtf ?

Pretty harsh on him and he would have benefitted more from the tour than Voges who will soon retire.

Glad for Neville though, thank god Wade is history.

Yeh that's a strange call.

I dunno why we just don't take a couple of extra players....but I guess maybe the Australia A games are on during Ashes tour and that gives backups some game time.

Voges scored 1300 plus shield runs at an average of more than 100.

We've been picking blokes who average in their 40s in shield cricket.

One injury and Voges could easily be in the side.

So, Essendon players found not guilty by the AFL.
ASADA and WADA have 21 days to appeal.

Suity

They are going the opposite way to NRL. NRL allowed ASADA to conclude their investigations and hand out suspensions.

The AFL are challenging ASADA to produce evidence.

Interesting times.

So, it sounds like they won't appeal, even though he described the episode as "disgraceful".

Ahhm, ok then.
