The Mcintyre system was garbage. Teams that finished 3rd or 4th who lost week one could be eliminated if results went against them.
The system won us a title but I was never a fan of it.
I don't like the current system where 2nd (if they lose) shifts over to 1st's side of the draw. That is unfair to the team that finishes number 1.

Bunnies v knights
Interesting how a players fortunes can change. Jed Cartwright was not getting any games at Penrith .Transfer to south.Today he plays in a semi final coming of the bench

It'll be Souths Vs Eels to decide who plays us in the prelim. Unless a miracle happens.
No miracles. Knights did pretty well for most of the second half but could not defend a really bad mistake from Ponga, and then the floodgates opened. I saw nothing in Souths today that should cause our team problems if we play as we have all year. We've never played them in a final, despite finishing 1 and 2 in 1989 and also both making the top 4 in 2014 and both sides making the finals numerous times since then.

Not really impressive': Roosters ready to turn tables on Panthers

Isaac Liu has vowed the Roosters will turn the tables on the Panthers if they meet again this year, saying the victors "just played off the back of our errors" on Friday.

Tricolours coach Trent Robinson bristled slightly when asked after the 29-28 qualifying final defeat if minor premiers Penrith, who have now won 16 straight games, were the best team in the competition.

And lock Liu admitted he thought that "whatever they did, it wasn't really impressive" despite the Panthers coming back from 10-0 down.

The Panthers have booked a preliminary final berth while the Roosters will play the winner of Saturday's Raiders-Sharks clash next week. However, Friday's combatants could still meet in the decider.

"[Penrith] just played their game like they did, they just played off the back of our errors, our little mistakes," Liu said.

"We definitely can play better than that. We know that. But if there's a chance we do come up against them [again], we'll make sure we come out on top."

You’ll be waiting a while now Isaac!!!

The best news of the week the Roosters have been eliminated :D
I have been so sick of hearing all year from the press 3 peat. Throw in Uncle Nick's whinging and bending the rules to get Dunny Bill in the team. I must it is a satisfying result last night.
I can only imagine the tantrums last night in the dressing rooms.
