Ive watched your Twitter and the other slow motion videos and I still don’t see a send off. I see the Melbourne Storm player bracing for impact and the initial contact is with the upper chest region of CHN. Coreys arms appear facing downwards. He doesn’t lead with his left arm or left shoulder, he just puts a body shot on. Big hit, no doubt but is the sort of contact we need to rub out of the game. I don’t see it. I’m obviously wrong, but I just don’t see it.

Storm showing a few cracks that better sides than Manly and Canberra can exploit. Canberra absolutely did their best to lose every single big moment despite outplaying Melbourne tonight.

We need to belt them up the middle early, score early and put the pressure back on them. All these little things won’t go so right for them when they’re under the pump. Get in front and we know they won’t have the legs to go with our pack down the stretch.

Bellamy said Hughes can’t remember the game and is not well, I think there is a good chance he won’t play next week. CHN will probably miss the rest of the regular season and some finals games for that one.

I'm with Kilkenny. He's putting on a bit hit and gets it a bit wrong. The height difference does the rest. He does damage but there's no malice. Penalty obviously, probably sin bin (which is materially the same ofc), I dunno about a straight send off.

How? Means nothing to us
$100,000 for first place wouldn't go astray for a club in the current economic circumstances.

Unfortunately after I posted that the Raiders failed to find touch, drop the ball twice early in the tackle count and CHN thought he was back in the French revolution and decided to take Hughes head off.

Shoukder to chin mate resulting in hughes missing the rest of the game and very possibly next week as well, I think it’s a send off every day of the week these days. You don’t need malice anymore you just need to hit someone in the head with force. Even Stuart said “if he hit him high it’s a send off” and Ricky usually defends his players to the hilt. He did defend CHNs character but he couldn’t argue with the send off.

You only need to look at Boyd coroner and abd pappenhuzen to see why the nrl has changed the way they ref these high shots. Cordner forced to retire in his prime, pap has missed 10 weeks cause of concussion, keary missed a chunk last year. Players, clubs and the nrl have been forced to change how they deal with concussions now, being taller than someone should not be a factor at all in how they ref high shots.

For Penrith I have serious concerns for Yeo, another bad knock soon and he will be missing a chunk of games I think, he’s got a history of it now and it cannot be ignored. The Brisbane bloke should’ve been sent off for sure.

Our Concussion knowledge has changed the game forever it won’t be changing back.

If you put on a big hit and it goes wrong why should there be any leniency at all?

CHN made a conscious decision to go hard and botched it. The responsibility for a clean shot is fully on him.

If you drive around a corner too fast come off the road but are under the speed limit and hit a bystander what's the excuse?

If what happened to Yeo occurred in the Cross on a Saturday night Flegler would be spending in few years at the Matraville Hilton not a few weeks on the sidelines

Yeo had his head taken off and no send off. Only Storm and Roosters players are protected...

He should have been sent, although that shot was more careless than reckless.

CHN was going for a big hit and botched it. The Bronco just derped up a tackle.

Yep this is the frustrating aspect of it for me. That was a hard shot across jaw and Yeo is out before he hits the ground, they have to be consistent with it. We lost Yeo the better part of two games as a result and it if he gets another one like that we could lose him for much longer. Its all well and good suspending guys but if you put someone out like that it should be a send off these days, that is the standard they set earlier in the season and then they back off it a bit.

Yeo is getting into Cordner/Friend territory if he gets any more.

Exactly, when they brought the HIA rules in initially it was mostly about being afraid of future lawsuits but now we are seeing careers badly impacted and even ended, we have had Cordner, Friend and Glasby retire this season because of concussion on top of a young star like Pap missing ten weeks and he is still not even starting games or looking like he was prior to the bad knocks.
