I was a Moylan fan and disappointed when he left. But agree with what you wrote.
And Jerome is only in his second season as a starting five eight. Imagine how much better he will get with more games and experience.
Him and Cleary are already the best halves combination in the NRL. And that will only continue to get better as well, with more NRL games and state of origins together.
Spot on mate.
I was a moylan fan too. I always liked him when he was here. When he was on, he was such a naturally gifted ball player. His vision was as good as JT or joey. He read the game so so well.
Unfortunatley for moyza the other areas of the game really let him down. Hes pretty slow and had an average running game, missed easy tackles in defence and was a target and his kicking game wasnt up to nrl standard for a 5/8.
If he had naths dedication he probably couldve become a better kicker but he never put in the hard yards here.
Jerome has a much higher ceiling and is easily a more allround complete player.
Id go as far to say he could become our best ever 5/8 if he plays his career with us.
The thing that i appreciate most about romey was he didnt get pissed off and leave when we signed jimmy. He knuckled down and wanted to stay, be a panther and play with his mates. He kept training hard. Take that for what you will, but you dont see that alot anymore in young players. They sign with an nrl club that is willing to put them in fg straight away. Look at burton for example. If hed shown luais patience hed be getting offers for double what the dogs gave him. I know managers have input but at the end of the day its the players decision.
To me he was ready to, i said to my family the whole last season maloney was here that we needed to play luai. Hed shown in his limited chances he was the future.
So, moving forward, i couldnt be more happy with the luai nath combo. It has the potential to be our greatest ever. If luai picked australia over samoa, i have no doubt theyd be 6 and 7 in the future. Quite incredible.
