Melbourne don't have the depth they once had in the forwards. But once papenhuyzen and Hughes are back there points will come back.

Makes it interesting with Munster all of sudden been given the keys to the team and hasn't fired a shot in 2 weeks without Hughes there. With all the contract talk around him maybe storm have it right in prioritising the other 3 spine members ahead of him.

Plus so many teams I feel are mentally scarred from losing too them over the years they are beaten before the contest against.

Before last night the only 2 teams to beat Melbourne since round 3, 2020 were Parramatta and Penrith. And both have beaten them 4 times each in past 2 and half years.

So does everyone here think the cowboys are the real deal?

been overly impressive and another huge test for them next week.
Yep reckon they are a lock for Top 6.

They can make Top 4 but its a long season though I reckon some of the younger players may tire out as the season goes on.

They haven't had to travel to Sydney yet either which helps.

They basically got 4 away games in QLD and NT against interstate teams. Warriors, Tigers and Bulldogs all play home games against cowboys in QLD. And Parramatta took home game to Darwin.

So they got a decent draw.

Good question

Payton was considered a hero at the warriors in 2020.
Then he was considered a disaster last year at the cowboys.
But now they would have to be considered legit this season.

Paytons vision and stubborness to stick to it is obviously paying off and he clearly has the players onside.. The team is a good mix of youth and experience. Nanni (sp?) Is a star in the making. Towsend might be on overs but he is producing. Holmes is producing in the centres. Their biggest issue has been not having a starting spot for the Hammer ffs
