DD there's one thing that the JV has protected us from, and that is relocating again.Being the "Perth" Dragons would eliminate any reference to St George and Illawarra. How will all of the juniors in the south coast and St George area be divided up? I'd say not many would venture to Perth, the Perth Dragons would need to develop the local players, the Red V won't be represented as it should. I would give the game away completely if that happened.
I was born in the St George Hospital and lived in Hurstville for a time and I will not deviate from following the Red V because of that.
I know that Perth is crying out for a team there and the Dragons have a lot of appeal there but it just won't be the same.
Sorry, Dragonslayer has corrected me and said that there is the West Coast Pirates ready and wanting to be a part of the NRL so yes, you are right Denis, not likely that the JV will be relocating.DD there's one thing that the JV has protected us from, and that is relocating again.
maybe we could get Barrett back to coach our ressiesJust on a different note concerning the "Big Brother". This Phil Gould and Trent Barrett thing that's going on at the moment is like some other club out west during the Hook/Gould period.
Gould takes control as the Big Boy and Barrett sucks his thumb as the Little Boy.
I'm hedging my bet that Barrett will be on the outer and the Bulldogs go hard in getting Cameron Ciraldo as the Head Coach at the Bulldogs.
Barrett's best days has been as an assistant coach at Penrith. I don't think he would take on a job at the Dragons and I doubt that the Dragons would want him.maybe we could get Barrett back to coach our ressies
are you saying there is still bad blood there, he would have to be better than what we haveBarrett's best days has been as an assistant coach at Penrith. I don't think he would take on a job at the Dragons and I doubt that the Dragons would want him.
Just what our boys require - a bit of slip, slosh and slaaaap !maybe we could get Barrett back to coach our ressies
Why is it that the worst people always seem to be the ones who think the most of themselves? You have never played the game

Yes, I still do. Nathan Brown left an indelible mark on his cheek in 2003 during the three-way jab, jab, slap routine involving Barrett, Lance Thompson and Brett Firman.are you saying there is still bad blood there, he would have to be better than what we have
Yes, I still do. Nathan Brown left an indelible mark on his cheek in 2003 during the three-way jab, jab, slap routine involving Barrett, Lance Thompson and Brett Firman.
After Barrett left us in 2006, I think he broke all ties with the Dragons, played for the Warriors and then Cronulla.
I don't rate him as a head coach - didn't really do much at Manly and not much chop at the Dogs so far.
its a funny situation though because i have never heard either Brown or Barrett talk about it even after so many years. i would imagine that brown has well and truly moved on maybe not Barrett though,I could of believe what he done that day to Barrett , to slap the face of one of your own players in full view of everyone done irreparable damage to the team not to mention the player himself .
A terrible thing. Brown has not lived it down I'm sure and the players involved would have been so embarrassed as well as the team. A crying shame that it was the Dragons. Brown's emotions just got the better of him at the expense of the three guys and the club and we were the laughing stock of the league I guess. Thank goodness we got Bennett in to change our direction for a few years. But the years after him keep on regurgitating in me.I could of believe what he done that day to Barrett , to slap the face of one of your own players in full view of everyone done irreparable damage to the team not to mention the player himself .
It is water under the bridge and both men have grown and matured and doing what they love to do now. Let bygones be bygones - but friendships might be a totally different story.its a funny situation though because i have never heard either Brown or Barrett talk about it even after so many years. i would imagine that brown has well and truly moved on maybe not Barrett though,
