What's the chances of Dean Treister returning to Toyota?

I heard that he indicated in the middle of the debate that he would be keen to return under a new coach? He's a good, honest rake and a tough nut.

Any news?

No chance. He was sounded out but they couldn't nut out a deal. He's retired to take up a position in his family's business I believe.

Too much ill feeling with him and Kimmorley - as much as I liked Deano it would create problems with team harmony if he returned. This is some of the unhappy carnage from the Anderson era.

Why did my comments on this matter get deleted?

Put simply, Ando would use Dean's return in his court action. Straight up and down. That's why he's not here.

Really? I didnt know that. Can you elaborate on it?

Deano was very unhappy with the dominant role that Kimmorley had as he had been used to being a leader in the pack. Deano ignored some of Kimmorleys calls and words were exchanged between the 2 on and off the field. It blew up badly at training. Ando obviously took Kimmorley's side and that was how the whole episode started. Deano was following Anderson's instructions (ie Kimmorley on field) which led to his ultimate release. This can happen when several strong personalities clash and it really was sad for the club that the situation could not be resolved in a mature matter.

As told to me from someone in close contact with the team and players individually and in particular Deano himself. He is a source I believe but cannot identify as it could compromise his position.

Yeah, it may sound like a wild theory, but think about it...

"Your honour, clearly the club was plotting to sack me, despite publicly promising to back me and support my reforms. Why else would they re-employ a player I forced from the club due to his disruptive attitude and unwillingness to follow my game plans? They never were going to keep me, they don't want to change and their re-hiring of a member of the 'losing culture' clan just proves that."

the fact they let a player go would only reinforce the clubs backing of ando

if they subsequently rehired that player this would also spell the board believes anderson made a bad decision in the first place and reinforces their position that anderson was not competant

I agree Millers.
Kimmorley & Treister look like they are friends to me.
It's more about positions that need filling than anything.
If Treist was a big back rower that could run, he would be there.
But having said that, Ben Ikin has retired & wont play for the Broncs this year,, will he?
