NQ Conspiracy Theory

However, it seems there are some teething problems after Cowboys coach Paul Green confirmed he would be issuing a strong 'please explain' to the league over not one but three game-changing calls.

North Queensland were left to rue a dubious obstruction call that denied them a 65th-minute try, an 82nd minute forward pass and Johnathan Thurston being denied a match-winning golden point try over a contentious knock-on.

Very disappointing that the Cowboys are again making the loudest noise of what was a great game football last night. The so called 'contentious call' for Jonathan Thurston no try, was hardly contentious at all. All the commentators thought Thurston knocked the ball on. And Darren Lockyer made a great point that Kyle Feldt knocking the ball back into play and hitting his legs, which propelled the ball forward is a knock on in general play any-day of the week.

The forward pass, and the obstruction call had no complaints from the commentators either.

Also the Cowboys ignore the no-try that the Broncos Matt Gillette was given earlier in the game. Alot of the commentators were all agreement, that was not a knock on but a try.

Watch the press conference.

Green repeatedly says we shouldn't be talking about the referees, we should be talking about the great game that happened. The journalists keep asking him questions about the refereeing. He was simply answering the questions they asked him. He tries to change the subject multiple times.

He wasn't claiming the Thurston try was legit, he was asking the referees to explain how they came up with that restart if JT knocked on in goal. Eden touched it when he was out too.

2 tackles before the "Thurston No Try" - I think it was Taumalolo - who threw a blatantly forward pass that was missed. The Cowboys should count their blessings they even got a shot at scoring a try.

If I were a Cowboys supporter I would be very pleased with the way my team's forwards steamrolled the Broncos in the second half. The end result is not very important anyway. Both teams will make the finals.

Not much of an achievement steam rolling the Broncos pack. Panthers did it in the second half last week too. Cowboys pack is a shitload stronger than Panthers. So really it's no surprise.

I thought it was a Try but it was a call that could have gone either way and given the on field ref said "No Try" it was no surprised that a knock on was found.

In fairness, the Cowboys have historically been on the wrong end of some very dodgy calls.

They journos only asked about the incidents. Green and Thurston just answered the questions. Maybe watch the actual press conference, you goon.

Not contending any of the calls, there were some bad ones either side of the ball.
However I wouldn't take anything Lockyer says seriously, he is worse than Gus for bias.
If the Broncos were down by 30 points and had 6 men left he'd still find a way to explain how the Broncos will win:lol:

Those (or them), you say 'them' during the league season, North Queenslanders are on to something. Let's face it the Shroud, earth is flat, moon landing, Princess Diana's death, the global warming fraud conspiracies all came out of North Queensland.

I think his point still stands. That would be called a knockon in general play- I thought it was the incorrect ruling by the video ref. It didn't matter though because Thurston would be later ruled knock on for scooping up the pass and fumbling it.

I actually don't think Lockyer is that biased. During his playing career the Roosters were disallowed a try by video ref to tie the game up against the Broncos. It was a howler of a decision, when it was ruled obstruction when it simply was the Broncos who were bamboozled in defense.

Darren Lockyer who was captain at the press conference admitted it was a try, and the Roosters were hard done by. It happened during the years when Brad Fittler was coaching the Roosters.

I'd go to Hitler for an opinion on the Jews before I listened to any of the commentators opinions. Their opinions are either based on club/state loyalties (Lockyer, Lewis, Fatty), or who they placed a bet on (Rabs, Gus, Joey).

Just because they make the incorrect decision in general play, it doesn't make the decision for the try any less wrong.

If Feldt knocked on why did they look at Thuston grounding fifty times?

Havent seen the Morgan pass again but live it looked 50/50.

What about JT's points about the obstruction no-try that he brought up in the PC?

Giving my honest opinion the pass from Morgan to Feldt wasn't forward.

Watch any hooker any given game and there's your definition of forward.

Thurston's was a no try for not 1, not 2 but 3 reasons.

1. Feldt knocked it on and that is what the bunker called thus the restart if green is wondering. Couldn't care less if he propelled it backwards into his leg and then it went forward. That is a knock on all day in general play and sanity prevailed here.
2. The broncs player touched ball from outside the field of play
3. Tburston knocked it on. It was as clear as day abd that "all round good bloke JT saying otherwise is a complete lie.

I feel a touch more sorry for them re: the obstruction call. No way that player was going to get there but that is unfortunately how they call it nowadays.
