Metcalf has shown a significant inability to engage the line, draw and pass and make the most of overlaps we've had today.

I can't at all see a natural 7 there. That was TMMs strength when he played last year was the ability to put people away
Yep. I like Metcalf as a running 6 but he’s shown nothing to indicate he’s an organiser. We need TMM back at 7 and to stick with him, Metcalf and CHT can fight it out for the #6 (I’d go with Metcalf, as he’s one of our few players either dangerous pace).

Yep and I'd be doing it straight away. Won't happen, though

If he puts the same team out there next week it's hard to see a different result.
His lack of demanding responsibility from the players says a lot. Hi team looked totally lost from the kick-off.
Pompey had a shocker. Metcalf didn't get the team firing and his kicking was way too deep and misdirected.
Nuikore, for a big body, is ineffective.

Yeah I can't see a big improvement in this side. We have two halves for whom neither has any idea how to steer a side around and put their team mates in gaps. We're not a physically imposing team, but nor do we have speed and flair, and a knowledge of how to expose defenses.

I hate to say that and I am so keen to not be knee-jerk, but we look a bottom 4 side based on that...and we don't have much cattle out. DWZ doesn't change us, nor does Berry. I do think we would have been better today with TMM, but even then not enough to change that performance enough

The missed tackle column is absolutely horrific to read through. Missed 43. Capewell 9, Metcalf 7.

Yeah 43 is bad. 20 missed tackles per half is pretty much the barometer for shitty defence. Under 10 per half is a pass mark.

CHT, Metcalf and Capewell were our worst offenders - 20 missed and 10 inneffective tackles between those three alone.

Honestly, I'd definitely have Te Maire Martin in the team and I can't understand Webster's thinking in not picking him unless he absolutely has to. In saying that, I think we're being a bit harsh on the halves. We got smashed in the forwards. Fisher Harris was good, but not AFB. Nobody looked like AFB. Certainly, Niukore didn't look like AFB and Capewell continues to be a waste of space. If we get beaten up in the forwards, it's hard for the halves to play.
