That ‘weak’ Queensland team would win the NRL comfortably. You’re off your head to think a club side should be able to beat the winning Origin team.
Obviously. That strong NSW side should have easily beaten weak QLD in 2020 (maybe they lost because they had too many Parramatta players in Paulo, Brown and Gutherson?) and they were $1.37 favourites going into the decider against a weak QLD team without their best player.

Agreed, any given close result comes down to luck on the day. That’s why you need to consider much larger samples than just a handful of finals matches.
Penriths dominance only started in 2020 so it’s meaningless to consider any data before then in this example.

It's wrong to think that Origin result should reflect on the Panthers squad. The Panthers results reflect on the Panthers while the Blues' results only reflect on the NSW Origin team. It's sour grapes to think NSW would've gone better with fewer Penrith players (or at least more Parramatta players). It's three games. The 2-1 swing tells us nothing meaningful. It requires fans and journos to impose a narrative, just like in the finals.

What evidence do you have that we cannot win?

How have you come to this conclusion?

Statistically no team has won the 2022 premiership - so with that in mind we are just as good chance as anyone else. Hopefully we have a bit more luck than the other sides and take it out.

Even if we are 10% chance - it is still a chance. We haven't hit form all year. Maybe we will hit our form similar to the cowboys but instead during the finals period? When it actually counts.

We could finish top 4 this regular season and not peaked at all.

Penrith haven't had barely an injury all year. They where all fit last season bar players carrying niggles.
Odds are they'll op 1 or 2 injuries come finals.
Rooster have been analed for the last few years. We've lost key players comenfinals also.

If they lost a few and we are full strength we are a chance. If they are 100% I doubt anyone beats them tbh.

That is what we hope for. Remember the 2005 Tigers. After 17 games they weren't even in the top eight. Their defence was atrocious. Anything can happen.
That was f**king 17 years ago and as you would put it with your bullish analytical mind an outlier. They did manage to string 8 games in a row coming home but we have a coach that can barely string a sentence together let alone a massive winning streak.

The Evidence I have is that we don't have a Marshall in our ranks that everyone else can respond to or a 2009 Hayne.

Besides even those sides once got going from the bad start to the season they initially had were way more consistent then our lot.

We are a great team of individuals, but for whatever reason(my opinion coaching being the main one) can't get it together long enough to take out the premiership, and if it were ever to happen we would have seen it in our defense, which has basically been this bad for BA's entire tenure no matter who the players have been. He just has never had the right defensive coach at our club and it shows.

Look at the Cowboys. It just took him one season to get it right with Dean Young. We persisted with David Kidwell for I don't know how many years even though blind Freddy could see it wasn't working.

Like I said, we have Buckley's unless we do a Bradbury. So yeah sure we have some chance as miniscule as that is, but don't put the farm on it or you'll probably be sleeping in the park come September.

I don't get it. Fans still think we have a chance of taking out the title.

Doesn't matter where we finish on the ladder if our defense isn't in the top 3 of the comp. We have Buckley's of winning it this year and therefore for at least 3-5 years but probably 10+ more likely unless the teams above us suffer major injuries and we do a Bradbury.

Sorry to be the bearer of such totally negative news but that is the reality and no amount of wishful thinking will change that. It would be like me wishing I was a 6 foot 4 Norwegian super model with a 9 and a half inch di*k. No matter how much wishful thinking I do, it will never give me that extra inch at the end of my di*k.

While the term "stranger things have happened" applies, I agree with you - we lack the composure, defence, and resolve of a Premiership-calibre team.

I never said that NSW would have gone better with fewer Penrith players though I do think NSW would have won easily if Latrell and Turbo were in the side.
