The only other show on there I know of is hosted by that shaved chimp Matthew Johns, and that show focuses more on stupid antics and childish humour than the actual footy.

That one is also after dark. I'm talking daylight hours Squinty.

Ben Hunt is a f**kwit. I have no problem with him liking Hook as a coach but he signed a contract in October until the end of 2025 without a coach clause knowing full well Hook was on thin in ice. If Hunt wanted a coach clause and dragons refused a coach clause (which is likely) then don't f**king sign! But the greedy prick wanted his 900k so signed regardless and still took meetings with Gus Gould in the off season. Now Dragons have started the year poorly, Hook is gone and all of a sudden Hunt is blaming poor management as the reason he wants out...but the management has been a basket case long before Hunt got there (Dragons crap management is nothing new) and it's just a coincidence the Dogs, Titans and Roosters are suddenly interested.

You could say he benefited from the poor management he has been on a million plus for 5 years.

Now look he is good player who made one mistake in the 2015 GF which people don't mind hanging shit on him for.

But the Dragons have been paying overs his whole contract imo.

I doubt its even registered or been discussed within their camp.

The only thing that cements a coaches future is winning games. Even a dumb arse footballer knows that. Why didn't he get a coaching clause put in? If he's a man of his word he stays until 2025. Because that is what he agreed to, and signed on for.

I already said that I think him signing was more about sending a message re: Hook. He's been very consistent in his support for Hook and was quite vocal when there were rumours about Hook leaving. My read at the time was that he was saying that if Hook doesnt stay then he's gone.

I suspect you have answered your own question. Dragons said no.

As far as I am aware Nathan Cleary is the only player with a clause like that and it was reported as being 'unprecedented' when it happened last year.

I can't imagine too many other circumstances where a club would say yes. It gives a players an enormous amount of power.

Who knows what assurances Hunt was given at the time regarding the tenure of Hook?

Anyway, I'm sure Hunt figured he could possibly get the same outcome if needed by doing what he is doing now, which you think is shit and I think is understandable, albeit unfortunate.

Contract clauses aren't free. If he's asking for that he would need to give something up, most likely some of the contract value.
