My take on it - Centred around recruitment. Saying faction between BA and O’Neil

There is 5 on the committee regarding recruitment , we went hard for Staggs, Gagai and failed. Kent questioned someone is to blame and said the panel collectively don’t have a lot of league smarts to identify young talent, as BA hasn’t the time to do so , and O’Neil the only other one who has played league at the high level

They mentioned Bellamy and Robinson are successful bringing in talent but it’s people under them that identify it, ie they just coach and mentor

Kent went onto say we were never in a window to win a premiership , if Anthony the window had a crack in it.

Crawley only one to go after BA said it’s been 8 years and has had a fair crack.

Parramatta fans are certainly good at not being patient - Pou Pou Escobar 10/8/2021

A pouism for the ages, anyone who is still a fan after what has been dished up the last 35 years has been more than patient. But that’s right it’s all the fans fault.

Go back and read it again. I think you'll find the comment about being patient is in relation to player development. Nothing to do with fans.

Being a hopeless malcontented masochistic bunch of fools living in an alternate reality awaiting the return of a premiership is not evidence of patience.

But hey, despite all signs, this could be the year, or if not then next, or if not then next.

They totally dismissed Rogers who someone on here had a high opinion of recently.

so I get BA and MON may not be best mates….

but to say the eels have a recruitment issue or there isn’t a lot of “footy intellect” is a huge piece of fake news….

I reckon we are one of the best at identifying cheapies to play NRL or as depth, over last 2 seasons:

Papa - cheap, great form
Opacic - cheap / solid
Cartwright - cheap / has turned career around
Lussick - solid back up
Hipgrave - solid back up
Davey - solid back up
Roache - development contract
Field - development contract
Rankin - development contract
Rodwell / Makatoa - solid NSW cup pick ups (both in QLD bubble)
Perham/Grieg - very promising rookies

not sure the club could do much more in recruiting fringe players …….

recruiting elite players is a lot different, as @Poupou Escobar has mentioned is about how much you are willing to play….

We've certainly dropped off as the season has gone on .... why were we doing better earlier in the season? Were players better? Was the coaching better? 🤷‍♂️
My opinion is that we’re an effort based side and so at the start of the year we are fresh and probably fitter/better prepared to start the season. Other sides aren’t at their best so our effort alone can get us in front and we play off the back of that confidence.

However, as the season goes on we struggle to maintain that effort, injuries creep in opposition fitness improves and matches our effort, and their attack and defence builds over time. We have no plan b to fall back on and are devoid of any new ideas/creativity, so continue to only focus on effort alone. We haven’t the players to maintain that level of effort and concentration across a full season, nor the coaching staff to adapt and improve our attacking and defensive structures.

For mine, this happens too often for it not to be the case.

I think we generally start the season fitter than most other teams. We obviously do a lot of work on fitness and defense. How many times
Can you practice one out hits up at training? That’s pretty much our attack. As other teams fitness level and defense get sorted, our structure gets found out. Now it’s like we’re chasing our tail. We know what worked early on in the season, but it’s not good enough anymore. And if we focus on attack, our defense will suffer. I guess it’s not such an easy fix.

This ^. Absolutely. So much has improved about our club. It gladdens the heart. Im sure our fade outs are a cause of concern even if they are putting on a brave face. Communicating support is exactly how our leaders should react. They are obviously being baited endlessly by the media who use any and all manner of tricks to get a story.
