I backed Storm 13+@ $3.30 and -4.5@$1.95 tonight. I feel a bit dirty because I'd love to see Cronulla win, but I just can't see Cronulla beating them even with the players the Storm are missing.

I think the Storm should win but I don't like them 13+ here.

You're probably right Dad, I tend to go for 13+ too often tbh. There is a bit of logic to it though, I don't think Cronulla's line defence will be able to hold out the Storm, so they'll end up taking a lot of risks in the second half and give away field position towards the end of the game. Plus I think Slater will be running out of dummy half a lot which should go well against Conulla's gang tackling. Time will tell, I wouldn't follow me any more than St Brett, Melbourne straight out would probably the bet but I'm not betting sheep stations so I want a bit of value

What are people thinking for next week? Bit early I guess, but the odds are out.
Manly are $1.80 Melbourne $2 with TAB, Man $1.72 Melb $2.10 with Centrebet. DOubt I'll have a bet myself I've backed both during the year, but it's pretty even according to the bookies.

Much like Nadal v Federer at Wimbledon, this is a match that is too close for me to put money on.

Manly the favourite at 1.75 with Melbourne at 2.10
Melbourne have won both clashes this season, comfortably 26-4 at Olympic park in April and 16-10 in a close and bruising encounter at Brookvale. No doubt these are the 2 best teams this year and if not for the Cameron Smith suspension the odds would be 1.90 apiece.

They say you have to lose a Grand Final before you win one and no doubt Manly would be better placed this week having the experience of last year under their belt. I think Manly will win but the best bets for me are:
1. the half dozen bet on sporting bet at $3.00 for a 6 point margin either way
2. total penalties under 9.5 at 1.95 on centrebet, forget that these two teams are amongst the worst penalised, Grand Finals and Origin games never produce a lot of penalties and this game should follow
