He was a junior kangaroo halfback...He isn't a halfback.

The kid signed because he was being forced out due to the cap and it was obvious he did not want to go. The ball is in his court really now. Still contracted for next year with the Tigers and signed with St George. The St George contract is null and void if he simply states and confirms he never got the release but signed because he was not sure he had a position due to the cap.
St George handled it poorly and showed no class announcing it and will come back to haunt them.

Committed fraud? To dishonestly gain financial advantage by deception? Its not that simple. If he states that he was never granted a release from the Tigers, but made representations to the Dragons that he did have a release which he and his manager have previously stated in the media. Then he is liable to damages to the Dragons and has committed fraud.

No, son, he has not committed fraud.
He (along with his manager) has perhaps made a serious misrepresentation, the basis of which could make his contract with St George void ab initio, and leave him liable to pay them damages.
But he has committed no crime.
Let's be clear on that, shall we?
How so?
Your CEO has been done over by our CEO and still has no idea.
The fact that both clubs are f**ked until it gets sorted perhaps? Both clubs and player have been f**ked around by your CEO and no one knows what's going on. Pathetic
Or... both clubs have been done over by a player and his manager.
Tell me - as a contracted player with permission to negotiate, why would you sign without first obtaining a release? Surely you would make the contract conditional on securing a release?
