People seem to be getting confused here. Just because no formal release was granted doesn't mean the club wants to keep Moltzen. Humphreys never said anything because like the rest of the players and staff, he fully expected Tim to go and fully expected Tauber or the Dragons to sort out the issueof a release not being formalised.

So you think WTs are still willing to release him?
Is that what you mean...Im not sure?

Maybe someone can explain why the NRL website under 2012 player transfers(last updated 28th September) lists Moltzen as a loss for the tigers and has him listed as an addition for the Dragons?

2 things - Now the NRL is wrong with the information it puts on its site and when this information was put out there for public viewing again Humphries kept quiet about it and didn't think he needed to bring the misprint up with the NRL.

No injustice at all, was just wondering where the NRL got that information from. Do they get that from the club? Do the clubs give them a list of players they have let go and gained or do the NRL just make it up?

Some junior clerk with a communications degree probably trawls the internets and watches the footy show almost religiosly.

Have you considered that both clubs or at least the tigers thought that they would be better off not making a fuss of all this during the season(could you imagine if they were playing games with this going on) and wait till off season ?

Also would not it be the dragons responsibility to tell the Nrl that the site was incorrectly allocating a player to them ? If either have the responsibility they both do. My view is that both clubs should have bigger things to worry about than the player update list on tigers website.

At the end of the day if the dragons had not announced Tim was going to them, there would have been no issue.

As far as the Dragons go the NRL has not incorrectly allocated them a player as they believe/believed Tim Moltzen had signed with them for 2012 onwards so they would have no need to correct the NRL. The Tigers are the ones that say should have the issue with it as in their opinion it is not correct.

I don't buy the whole 'not make a fuss' during the season because at the time it was Sheens and the Tigers players that were making a big fuss about it, Sheens through his press conferences and the Tigers players through twitter and the media. So one would think that Humphries would try to defuse the situation there and then, put an end to it right there and then not let it drag on.

It is not a good look for both clubs and it is alot of fuss over what at this stage is just an average player.

St George announced they signed a player they were not entitled to sign. They caused the problem. How bias can you be to blame the tigers for that ? I am reluctant to speak for all tigers supporters but next time st George sign a player they are actually entitled to sign , the tigers won't object !

The tigers always denied there was issues at the club . Sheens had the shirts that media kept on bringing if up. Not many clubs win 11 in a row when there are issues.

St George stuffed up. St George stuffed up. They do not tie up all the loose ends. They jumped the gun.

At the end of the day, the Dragons didn't cross their t's and dot their i's. They took a player on his word and rightly or wrongly that is absolutely ridiculous in this day and age. It's not amatuer hour, the Dragons would have known full well that Moltzen hadn't been granted a release when they "signed" him, and they know full well that you can't register two contracts with the NRL. Do the math, Doust f*cked up.

Looks to me like Moltzen was just making sure he had his future sorted out. If the Tigers didn't want him then he had the Dragons to fall back on. Maybe not the most ethical way to do things, but that's footy these days.

That's exactly what I mean. I think the administration just wants the Dragons to do the right thing and come to the negotiating table to organise Tim's release for next season, but I haven't heard anything from the Dragons administration to indicate they're willing to do that. Seems to me that the Dragons don't want Moltzen anymore or they realised that they fuct up back in July and are seeing how far they can push things before they have to concede that they fuct up and starting negotiating.

Hmmmm

Isnt the contract he signed with saints invalid?

Can we hold them to the ''contract'' he signed despite us not granting a formal release...

Hes under contract to WTs as well and that would overirde any other contract as a current contract....Id have thought we'd be stuck with him if saints have changed their minds and dont want him, despite not seeking a formal release when they ''signed'' him
