NRL expansion being dropped from agenda until at least 2015

It's taken a while but I finally agree with Perth Red on something.

Unfortunately, the message I am getting is that they will continue to string all bids along for as long as they can, just in case things change.

I hope this isn't the case.

Its precisely what they will do...they want to keep people interested in league areas with no teams in the hope it keeps ratings/occasional game crowds high to please their masters, Nine.

Its a short term strategy that is dangerous long term, because 2 of the 4 bid areas are going to be mightily damaged in a few years time, UNLESS they admit 2 AND announce the other 2 for entry a further 5 years down the track.
