Forget expansion, work out which sides will go, which sides will merge, because that's all the NRL are interested in.

No it wont. The ARL voted for expansion, voted for the Gold Coast. Only News needs to be swung. And next year when they look at the hopefully increased TV contract and pokie tax aftermath. Chances are they will be given the green light.

So unappealing that a consortium led by News Ltd paid more than $50 million for the rights to televise AFL than they did for the rights to televise RL.

And what about the effect the advent of the AFL had on the SANFL and the WAFL? At least two teams in the SANFL have effectively been forced to merge.

Why did South Melbourne Swans relocate to Sydney? Wasn't it to get their hands on money from the VFL to avoid going under?

Were it not for the favored treatment that Sydney and Brisbane get courtesy of salary cap concessions and a better negotiated TV rights contract than the NRL have then both of those teams would be struggling immensely.

New Zealand, Perth, South Australia have all been earmarked for future developement...

Another team in NZ will do wonders for the current struggling NZ rugby league franchise. :lol:

As for Perth and Adelaide, haven't they already been tried and failed misreably.

Please enlighten us Reggie about the wonder that is international AFL... Where are your expansion options outside of Australia??? The mighty New Zealander AFL team is not to be underestemated I'm sure, but tell me about exactly WHO gives a flying f**k about a game that has to change it's bloody rules to play some decent international opposition???
