NRL Fantasy Coach 2024

I have been pushing hard for Galvin to be in our first grade team singing his praises high and low.
OK I'll come clean with my conflict of interest. He is in my fantasy team and if he does play first grade from this weekend on it will boost my team no end.
It's a fickle game Fantasy Coach. If you have a player who throws an intercept pass conceding a try or if sin binned etc early in the game he can go into the negative. The bean counters then mark him for little reward for the rest if tge game.
I had 2 players , Ezra Man being one who scored a megre 6pts by half time.
This is my worst start and can't see myself getting out of this mess. I'm such a loser :)
If Galvin was playing 80min and doesn't stuff up he could easily score 40+

I can see me getting another win with 800 plus, doing alright for a week or two then burning out badly when I lose 2 players most weeks due to a bye.
I have looked at the weeks during state of origin and have no idea how to handle it as I head at break neck speed towards the bottom of the table.

Still......good fun though.

Cool mate, I wasn't sure you if you were in or not. Good stuff. ;)
Yeah I know I have been quiet, been swamped at work with no time.

Hopefully things will calm down a bit in a couple of weeks and I'll contribute some more banter

Four of my best players last week turned out to be dudds last night.

At the moment it's looking like a rapid decent from just below the penthouse to just above the Sh....outhouse.

I know I'm not going that flash Ned but after a game like this tonight, did you notice that Penrith always attacked to the weaker side, it's why Tago scored 119pts.
Turuva 84.
If during the bye rds/SOO period and you have extra subs you could do well if you sub someone in that's cheap but you feel he will keep getting the ball and play 80min. To know this you have to watch a lot of replays and get a feel for the way teams attack.
I had the other winger To'o and he was starved and scored only 30+. Those points were his return hitups and when he went looking for the ball.
I'll keep him for the whole season though because more often than not his side is the go to side...soon see :)

A lot of people stack their fwds and fill the backs full of cash cows. It's not a bad thing.
The only draw back is majority of these gun players are rep players which means your team will be decimated during rep season.
If you do this your only hope is your cash cows make you money so when you get extra subs you can afford some decent players.
Always spend big if your replacing someone like Haas so when he's available again you have the money to get you team back to what you want.

I pick 3 top scorers 1st.
then fill any cheapies that should start

Then the rest of middle tier.

Yep I agree that's another tac that's often successful.
If you look at recent winners [last 5 years] they all differ slightly in their approach.
BUT it's a gamble.
For example...
If your gun ½, hooker or fwd captain gets injured for 4wks then your usual 100+ pts is goooonne and if you dont spend wisely you'll blow it, especially if at the same time there are other injuries coinciding with club byes.
If all good we then have the luxury of topping up our squad with better players but you have to have trades left and the money if you want your gun captain back. Your theory negates this somewhat because you have another gun to Captain... usually.
3 years ago I was consistently scoring in the 1000+ but I had a brain explosion and got rid of my most expensive player to fill some gaps...went pear shaped from there averaging around 700+ for the remainder of the season.
:(

Hoppy and Haas are always my first picks.

I have done Haas previous years.

Yeo
Murray
Hopgood

Cleary as my 7 were my main guys.

Then tried to get goal kickers, Flanno and Pap not kicking doesn't help. Still got Isaako and the rest are cheap guys

Gotcha.
I put Kyle in as a benchie/rotation because he's cheap, will play 80 min, backup goalkicker and has energy. He also is the coaches son and wants to impress everyone.
All the ingredients for at least 30+ pts a game.
I never thought of Isaako, he's a gun, how much?

So it's similar to a movie about being in a relationship.

"It's complicated."
