Is the next NRL game the Warriors v Raiders in LV? That's some consolation

Just amazing - best team of my lifetime, 5 finals in row, 4 wins...

Rightfully Cleary gets a lot of plaudits - but it's more than him, he and Luai are up there with Sterlo and Kenny, and Stuart and Daley as the best clubs halves pairings I've seen (maybe Langer and Walters too, I guess)...

And my pick was their pack was going to dominate, with or without NAS, Yeo is as good as anyone ever at 13, Martin and JFH play much bigger than their size, and Leota is elite and underrated, as is Kenny etc... and look at the talent they've lost in the last few years...

Even without JFH and Luai, they start favourites next year, someone is going to have to beat them in the finals series... and atm Melbourne is the only team close, I'd expect Easts and Cronulla to be top 4 again I guess

The Hughes best running halfback is pretty hilarious tbh, like Mortimer and Alexander...

Cleary is up there with Johns and Sterlo for me, he has it all... and Luai is a perfect foil for him

I'd have had Yeo as CC tbh, but a few contenders in that performance

You’d think by now they would have filmed some sort of piece that shows exactly how everything happens in there, may help appease the fans a bit. I know Fittler has spent a game in there watching everything and came out thinking differently about it

I do think Luai is a massive loss but yea, if Cleary gets through the season unscathed, Talagi lives up to the hype, and Papalii returns to form which would give them a genuine edge threat for the first time since Kikau... bloody hell they could be even better.

I already cant wait for next year. So many fascinating sub plots to play out and look forward to.

How do warriors fans feel about Ivan Cleary when he coached you guys.

We have a pain on our forum that argues Ivan was an average coach for his first 13 years.

I argue he was your best coach in your history.

He got you to finals 4 years out of 6 including a GF.

The 2 years he missed out was 2006 when the Salary Cap punishment cost you a finals and 2009 tragically lost Sonny Fai in the off season which took a lot emotionally out of the side.

He beat Bellamy in 2008 and 2011 in finals in Melbourne who finished Minor Premiers.

I would say he overachieved and got more out of your side then any other coach has.

who'd have thought it... f**k Melbourne, their stars have long been a protected species, and Penrith have dwarfed their bullshit achievements already without cheating... They were dominated, yeah the score was close, but Penrith owned them, their try came from a dodgy call too

I should say @Beavers Headgear I dislike Manly intensely, but that GF when Manly pounded Melbourne (you'll know the year) ranks high on my list of favourites

Yea shows how well they defended doesnt it. But all that work drained them on attack; Penrith absolutely owned them in the middle. Kamikamica and King only had 10 runs between them while Fish made 18 on his own.

Yep - bullied them, was a beat down to be honest, and of course what Penrith promised wouldn't ever happen to them again after the GF loss to Melbourne

Ivan was good. Some of us were a little impatient and often called him out on his boring non attack methods.
Previous to that our best coach was Daniel Anderson, now he could coach a beautiful style that suited the Warriors very well probably played our most attractive footy in those years,

Now we look and play like bots.

I miss Cleary but even more so Hart. He had everyone humming with their own tasks, now we look a bit all over at the moment.

One of my issues with the Warriors hype train of 2023 and 2024 was it didn't compare for me to the Anderson era or the Cleary GF run.

I will never miss Hart due to 1999 RWC.

That swag was infectious. I also won a few 2 dollars bets off mates(I know nothing big but it added up lol) over the years when Cleary kicked our goals, he would never let me down. Ali, Stace, Toopi, Meli just to name a few, people couldn't tackle them. It was amazing.
