Carlaw has played 11 origin matches. He is a tried and true performer. Nutley is not up to standard.

Nutley will never play Origin. He is an endurence player, onyl useful for playing for a lengthy time, & we all know he won't be in the top 2 props for QLD. Putting him on the bench would be a waste of a reserve IMO, not like he's going to have any impact on the game

nutley has no size...carlaw does.
He was only playing QLD cup as he was coming back from injury. I am not his biggest fan, but i would take him over Nutley.
Peachey was not robbed in 1999, he just wasnt up to the standard of origin.
Apart from ET no other sharks players has played well in an origin game for NSW in he past 15yrs.

Carlaw hasn't been in great form at club level but i remember the last time he was picked out of form he won an Oringin match for them. Nutley is going to be one of those blokes who deserve a crack but never get one.

What do you expect? If you want to play for QLD you need to play for Brisbane or the Cowboys. Just look at Scott Prince. Despite his great efforts for QLD last year, they dropped him for Thurston who did nothing except for a wobbly field goal (that just happened to keep QLD in the game).

Same as for NSW. If you play for St. George, the selectors will just fall over themselves trying to give you a guernsey. If you don't play for one of the big teams, you can kiss your rep career goodbye! Remember the old days when Manly would lure young stars to Manly with promises of playing reps, and deliver because they ran the ARL?

QLD had no halfback to choose from last yr. They had Prince and thats it.
This yr they have prince, thurston and seymour. Next yr you can add Tim Smith to that mix. QLD are loyal, but not stupid. THurston is a much better player than Prince. How did Prince go vs the storm? MIA. Didnt run the ball, didnt do anything. Prince had a good start to the yr, but has been found waniting ever since.

anasta will. barrett is all theyve got, along with joey at halfback. maybe then with the worry of a 3-0 defeat could cause stuart and co to start thinking about players of Toupou, Kite and Morrisons calibre.
