Funny that the four in the semis are two chances for the premiership and 2 surely battling for the spoon

I don't see how Parra and Sharks will be battling for the spoon

Maybe battling for 8th spot. Eels could get as high as top 4 this season IMO

Yeah I struggle to see how we will even come close to replicating last years horror. We have a coach, no ASADA looming, aren't injured and fielding a reserve grade squad this year(yet).

Actually it would have made sense to have the semi pools cross over. If Knights had won it would have been a rematch with Parra. My thought was that Semis should be Parra v Roosters and Souths v Cronulla.

They had all that last year and they still needed Hayne to carry them all year.

Peats got injured early on, most of their promising forwards were in their first year, guys like Hoppa were still fresh from a long space out of the game and they didn't have the likes of Watmough bolstering their forwards

I have no delusions of premiership glory for my eels this year.
But I'm very confident of a top 6 and hopeful of a top 4 finish. Provided Peats and Ma'u stay fit and Sandow continues to show more consistency there is a very good base for a finals finish.
The likes of Pauli Pauli , Junior Paulo, Kenny Edwards, Manu Ma'u and in particular Tepai Moeroa will gain so much from the experience of Watmaugh. A lot of responsibility will also fall to Corey Norman but he has shown great glimpses of class throughout this nines tournament. Hopefully Semi will not fall victim to the dreaded second year syndrome and Hoppa will have gained much from his first (albeit abbreviated) season back
Go the Eels!

Last year was Semi's second year wasn't it?

Hey Natheel,
Yesterday, WT held the tournament record for the biggest winning margin.
Held it of course till Parra played Souths today.
I don't know if Moeroa knows the words to Blinded by the light, but he sure has come a long way since last year !!. He's a beast. Fearless, too.

Tears of joy flowed too at the end.
