Agreed, the AFL is pretty close to maxed out in it's gropwth whilst the NRL is still rebuilding after the SL war and the Gallop years.

The game is still recouping lost revenue and oportunities after Gallop allowed it to run on an oily rag and undersold it for so long.

The commission should be lauded more for the best decision they made which was one of their first, that is disposing of Gallop ASAP,

The AFL's expansion clubs are also in serious danger of folding if the AFL ever stop pumping insane amounts of money into them.

I keep saying this but both the lions and suns are in for a world of pain when a new Brisbane NRL side comes in. IMO a new Brisbane side is the most aggressive expansion move the NRL could make and would stamp our authority in QLD.

The moment it's announced the AFL will be shitting their pants and will seriously have to consider if they can afford to keep propping up the 2 QLD sides.

For years now this has been the most obvious expansion strategy, they should really announce now & give them a few years to be ready for start of new tv deal.

The sooner we announce this the better. It's going to be a great thing for our game and we should be looking to get the ball rolling.

Roy won't be invited back on Offsiders any time soon.

So it'll be back to normal then ,with the fumbler appreciation society:-
Kelly Undercarriage
Caro the Lisping Harpie
Dickie Behinds
Plus any scruffy fumbler sycophant who can fumble a few words, they can drag in from the street.
ABC transmission resumed as expected.

Any accountant worth his salt will tell you that you can't keep pumping $20 million + a year into ONE Club and the costs will rise as player wages rise, and in this case its TWO Clubs so that's $40 Milion + a year. $40 Million + a year for two clubs and they are not even treading water.

Great point, probably one thay has been lost on Ch9 too.
Their sheer arrogance blinds them. Sure some clubs have more rusted on fans than others, (or don’t have the power brokers like the Roosters) but there are masses of league fans out there that want to see all the teams and just some friggen variety....including variety of venue. I don’t have fox and have watched heaps more games this year on FTA.

yeah i mean thats exactly what i did. No wait its not.

Well good for you. That's certainly a blessing to know ,no fudging exists within AFL circles. And keep those regionals well hidden. Those people either don't exist or are non consumers apparently.
Then you are at ease with the results Roy penned so far.
Not some out of left field comment to discredit the statement.
