Can someone tell me how much of the revenue they invested back into the lower levels of the game or development?

Be interesting to see what they do with this profit.

Investing in some assets would be my preference, but what would I know.

I plan to have a look in detail later (bit hard squeezing in reading at breaks at work).
The concise mentions increases, but not the overall spend. I will look later.

Any spending should come from the revenue (i.e. reinvestment prior to profit). The should keep a safe kitty of liquid assets.

You'd think they need to sow some good uses for this profit, be it assets or investment in growth/development etc or I'd say the clubs and players will be putting their hands out for more!

Here's the overall spend:

Honestly im a little surprised it's only $46M

Simple maths suggest spending has outpaced saving. Improvement in turnover between 2017-18 is $122.9 million but we only saved $46 million.

I know the cap and some other funding went up and even accounting for previous debts, to spend an ADDITIONAL $70million dollars in one year is a lot for an already established competition.

Reinvestment of a large % of the profit and all future profits would yield even bigger results both on the pitch and off it.

Fund a pre-season Pacific cup to be held in either PNG or Fiji featuring NRL teams and local sides.

Fund development programs in expansion areas like Perth, Adelaide, Christchurch and wellington etc.

Fund a 2nd PNG Queensland cup franchise with youth teams. Same with Fiji.

So you expect the NRL to stand still and not spend it while we got the AFL spending millions in NSW and QLD?

Cap in 2017 9.75mm x 16clubs = 156m

Cap in 2018 13.8m (includes 30% payments to clubs) x 16 = 222m

Most of the increase in expenditure is for players and clubs distributions.
