Loose carry for mine

I could have lived with it being a loose carry but it’s hardly a travesty. 50/50 at worst. Plus I heard there’s been some communication from the NRL which have put more of the onus on the defenders to allow for a clean and quick play the ball.

Clean and quick play the ball...
That would be quite something.
Does that mean there are no eyes on the D line being perpetually offside, apart from mute linesmen who do sweet F all?

Not sure what's worse - mute touchies or vision impaired ones. Sharpe's out call on Taulagi, and the forward pass call on Crichton were a couple of clangers late in each game.

The fact some of them are given a whistle on occasion is genuinely alarming.

Early days obviously but having a couple other points of attack is already looking a good thing for not just the Knights but Ponga as well.

Haven’t seen him that lively in years, at least till Sharpe went off.

On the assumption he switches to the Kiwis for the WC, I reckon Stacey would’ve been almost as happy as Holbrook seeing that. Ponga/Brown/Hughes behind the best group of middles in the world… bloody hell.

But this one hadnt even got to the play the ball so not sure you can use it as an example. To me the guy has just lost it with hardly any force by the defender. But you are right. Its a risky play at that time of the game. Maybe you can make up for a 50/50 ref call if its in the first half, but not with 30s to go.

With Liam(s) Martin and Henry both unavailable for Rd 1, fox sports is predicting Going and Ale to win bench spots for Penrith this week. That'd be something.

I mean, a no call (loose carry) in that situation is just as 50/50 by definition.

Interesting start. Did the shoulder touch the head ?

hard to avoid when the blokes chin is a foot long
Penalty for sure, but no driving in of the shoulder, didnt drop the shoulder, didnt look like malice (vs Creightons look on his face).
I think as usual its to do with the face the player was KO'd.
