NRL Rd 6 2026 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Had to check when that was... it was only 8-ish months ago, and less than a month after Foz announced he'd hang up the boots. Crazy stuff.

I really hope they dish out another hiding. The Wizard of Foz is turning into one of the feel good stories of the year and I hope it lasts a few more rounds yet.

Surely Flannagan will be goneski by Sunday too if it happens. Wont be upset about that.

Talk of Drinkwater being given permission to move and being a done deal with the Dragons

Same talk around Connor Watson and Manly

My brother lives in Perth now and he reckons the NRL is wasting its time over there. Time will tell, we suppose, when the Bears are a regular occurrence but we can't help wondering how a code thrives/survives on four groups of expats.

The South Africans aren't interested, most Poms aren't, Aussies don't really migrate there in large numbers from NSW and Qld. and Kiwis? I know them well, a lot aren't into league.

It will take time, but a team that interacts with their area, turn up to schools, and win get support behind them.
You get the kids you get the parents.

Here come the Dragons, a big crowd on the hill, down 16-0, and suddenly 16-12...

...a try-saver by Tom T on Tu stops a remarkable '18-16' halftime scoreline in favour of St George. The Dragons have belief though.

...now Setu's in. Slips over, slips six defenders, and scores. 18-16, Dragons.
...a bit of an anti-climax, Manly are home, 28-18. Ten straight losses for the Dragons. Flanagan's gone by Monday, you'd think.

Cowboys up 18-12, nearly halftime.

Drinkwater pulls out of contest in air in slow motion and penalised. So lesson just collide in the air looking at ball. Bronocos player had a bit of Blly Slater studs out in the jump.
Bronocos benefits with a try next set.

That ball popped out easily on the ground. Broncos hand in the area. Hmmm
Another try off the back of it.
Shiba jumping in the area not really competing. Hmmm now being looked at.
Not much in it, but trick is to keep eye on ball. His moved to the man. Try removed.

Just flicked through the Manly game and watching the last 10mins of the Cowboys

Take any win we can at the gong. Seen that game story plenty of times, get out to a comfy 16-0 lead then all of a sudden the team down get the next 7 penalties/6 agains to get 90% of the ball in a 15min period and get back in the game. Happy to be able to get it back on an even keel and be good enough to finish it off. That first try to Garrick I didn’t think we would get, and that pass from Koula was an absolute ripper that should never have been called back.

I hope Paseka can stay fit for the season

Blood close game.
A drop goal each from out wide and Cowboys try to seal itin final minute.
Bronocos short restart didn't make the 10m!

Have to feel sorry for coaches at times.

Here we have a player, from a family known as being not the brightest, destroying a simple try for a rep level centre outside him by kicking the ball into the fence

Interestingly, with Saturday the main day of the round, there's no game in NSW, Qld or NZ.

Canberra are blowing it, 24-22, they're hanging on, but sending out too many 'we're rolling over' vibes.

...grandstand finish, 36-34, Canberra. Two mins left...they hold on.
