NRL Rd 11 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

It's that time of year again where Origin chatter is getting louder and this round has a few selection quandaries for the NSW coach in particular (the Blues have always had a larger playing pool). I do hope though that it doesn't distract too much from the best club season in years.

No Thursday game due to Women's Origin so we'll have to wait for Friday night to see the grim meeting of Newcastle and Parramatta. Next year is 25 years since they met in the grand final but this year both sides are miles away from a memorable meet-up in October.

On form, the Dogs should dominate the Chooks but, yeah, what an unpredictable season it is.

Saturday, what a ripper, the Dolphins v Warriors. Their backs v our forwards? I'll go with us, if we beat them up front then how can their speedsters get away?

The Cowboys v Manly and Sharks v Storm just looks so bloody good too. It doesn't get much better than seeing that nutter Brown come off the back fence, and at Shark Park we have the alphabet battle, AFB v NAS.

Sunday, the Dragons have been quite good in Brisbane in the past and if the Broncos are more into watching Reece TV then unfancied St George are even more of a chance. The Raiders don't know whether they're Arthur or Martha in regard to form and the Titans have the one coach in the NRL who's even grizzlier than their own. Sticky v Dessie? I'm going Des all day.

We close with Souths (it's Origin time so Latrell's suddenly looking good) v the shattered Tigers. It's the 2025 season, so expect Wests to thrash them!

Enjoy.

Animal Rights organisation PETA have asked the Broncos to retire their mascot, and change their name to something like the Brisbane Boomerangs lol
Why? Oh yeah true, a real Bronco/Horse rides around Suncorp, right? I remember seeing that when I went there a few moons ago.

PETA are like a lot of organisations right now, they're so far on the extreme end of the spectrum that no one listens to them, and in fact they inflame and empower those on the other end.

Whole bunch of other clubs will be on their hit list too then lol

Do the Dragons have anything to worry about?
There should be a mascot round, where you unleash an actual live version of your mascot in the middle of the ground and it is survival of the fittest - including for the fans.

Dolphins would be first out followed closely by the Sharks (unless it's a really wet day), Eels not much better, Roosters for the taking, Bunnies might buy a bit of time with pace while the Tigers and (Kimodo) Dragons could cause a bit of harm to the mostly other human mascots.

The races like they do in the US would be fun...

Unrelated, Fox has had a strong start in the PGA - in form and confidence at the right time

How would you beat a Titan?

Taupau’s NRL career looks over. Elijah Taylor bagged Madge online and Taupau liked the post, hasn’t gone down well in Brisbane
And it shouldn't - he's not naïve though, is it what he wanted... hard work not what he's up for?

Madge doesn't seem to be a coach that can last for too long at a club... but fmd the Tigpies were a disaster not of his making, and the Broncos need to grow up, they're wasting their talent... people called the Panthers smug, but they have made 5 GFs in a row... the Broncos look more smug, and have done f**k all

I know right, what a circus.

The players were unhappy under Kev who was criticised as being too soft, and now they’re allegedly unhappy with Madge for making them work too hard.

I know it won’t be all of them, but fk me there’s some weak people in that playing group.

Why do idiots do this? Honestly. I teach teenagers, and I would expect them to do it, and even then it's brainless but they have neuroscience reasons for that.

As a coach, I wouldn't cop that. I'd say you either bust balls from here or believe you me, I am the alpha here, I run the joint, if you don't like what I do, I heard Halifax are looking for a bench player.

You can just tell that is a broken playing group, to some degree. They don't even look like they're playing for each other or like they're a team like us, who will grind you until the 80th + minute

Speaking of Maguire, how about the form of Buzz during the week who during a heated phone call with him started to hand out coaching advice to him lol
Buzzy Boy wouldn't drop the boat cruise story. The only reason the got beat by Souths according to him. I'm not sure why anybody involved in the game would answer a call from him... The game has passed him by.

Old man Buzz has had his adult nappies in a knot with Madge since he broke his ‘big story’ about vomit buckets at pre season trainings.

He also picked on a boot camp Madge took them on, saying it’s outdated thinking and the current generation of players don’t respond to that sort of stuff anymore.

Stupid old bat still hasn’t clicked Bellamy has been doing boot camps for years. They even filmed a bloody doco on it. FMD.

What's the boat cruise story?

You can never trust someone who is quite clearly an habitual drunk, to have any level of rational and intelligent thought over a long period of time.
