It's that time of year again where Origin chatter is getting louder and this round has a few selection quandaries for the NSW coach in particular (the Blues have always had a larger playing pool). I do hope though that it doesn't distract too much from the best club season in years.
No Thursday game due to Women's Origin so we'll have to wait for Friday night to see the grim meeting of Newcastle and Parramatta. Next year is 25 years since they met in the grand final but this year both sides are miles away from a memorable meet-up in October.
On form, the Dogs should dominate the Chooks but, yeah, what an unpredictable season it is.
Saturday, what a ripper, the Dolphins v Warriors. Their backs v our forwards? I'll go with us, if we beat them up front then how can their speedsters get away?
The Cowboys v Manly and Sharks v Storm just looks so bloody good too. It doesn't get much better than seeing that nutter Brown come off the back fence, and at Shark Park we have the alphabet battle, AFB v NAS.
Sunday, the Dragons have been quite good in Brisbane in the past and if the Broncos are more into watching Reece TV then unfancied St George are even more of a chance. The Raiders don't know whether they're Arthur or Martha in regard to form and the Titans have the one coach in the NRL who's even grizzlier than their own. Sticky v Dessie? I'm going Des all day.
We close with Souths (it's Origin time so Latrell's suddenly looking good) v the shattered Tigers. It's the 2025 season, so expect Wests to thrash them!
Enjoy.
