Gus upto something with Galvin, best in the business footy brain wise, but the “best teenager I’ve ever seen” line, I don’t think he’d even be in my top 10

What the hell's happening here? This can't be us!

Another fascinating round, may this season never end. Rd 11 Ladder:

It's been 30 years of hurt. Forgive me, but paranoia is coming through the walls, man! Surely we'll collapse?

Best thing is we can collapse a bit from here and still make the 8!
32 pts should be safe and we have 22 incl our remaining byes.

So only need 5 from 14 to make it, with 7 at home. If we miss the 8 from here we deserve to.

But if we win our remaining games against current bottom 8 sides, we'll finish on 40pts and nudging top 4.

Never thought we'd be in this position, no one picked us to be in the mix, including ourselves. Crazy season.

Crazy season and the competition is wide open. Any team can be beaten on the day. We have a hoodoo against Melbourne but I am sure we can shake it off.

Last week Gus put out a tweet about exciting things bubbling away in the background

There are talks of the Tigers holding a meeting this week, and Todd Carney said he’d heard talk that last nights game could be Galvins last as a Tiger

Are these 2 things related ?

I know Gus has form but to flat out say a month or so ago they weren't going to sign Galvin, then doing it, is peak hypocrite. We'll see.

I reckon Galvin is overrated and probably for the first 4-5 years of his career, will need a dominant 7 next to him to resemble anything near quality. And who's that doing to be for the Dogs?

Yea if that happens it'll make a mockery of Galvin's whole "I need a better coach for my development" waffle too.

As good as Ciraldo has been, I'm not sure anyone can honestly say Burton and Sexton have become better halves under his coaching (yet). The Dogs' success is built on effort and grind, not slick halves play. Not sure how well Galvin fits that effort culture either or, as you say, where he would even play...

Not sure whether he's overrated or not, to be fair I don't recall many teenagers holding down a halves spot in first grade - Fittler played centre at that point, Daley was older but was also a centre... not sure what age Brandy started (edit, looks like he was rookie of the year at 19), Johns, Jones all took time too
