NRL Rd 13 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

This game shows how great this competition is. From what I’ve seen both are playing good footy and both near the bottom of the table. Extremely fine margins and luck needed with the players in key positions staying injury free this year

Post-Origin blues? Not really, club footy is back! I think we worked out that only Ponga and Grant didn't back up. Some, like Cherry-Evans, found some form too.

No team's written-off yet but, from tenth place down, those sides better put a couple of wins together soon or they will be.

Happy to write off the Titans. Melbourne were there for the taking and the Titans weren't interested. They're mud this year. Had them in my 8 but I had forgotten the Gold Coast is where professional sporting organisations and players go to die, or to relax

They won’t get anywhere as a club if they go down the coach route again and send Hasler packing either. The squad has a mountain of talent, but it isn’t well built, not enough old heads for me, they look better with Foran there but he can’t have much left

Listening to Levels take on the Titans and probably have to agree, Kini, Brimson and Campbell are all signed long term, they are all fullbacks, and none of them natural in the halves, 1 of them probably has to go to balance the squad up a bit better

Are a few clubs in that situation in varying degrees, Manly for example are a bit light on in the forwards, but the back 5 is absolutely stacked with Tom, Hopoate, Koula, Garrick, Talau, Faulolo and Saab. Granted they aren’t on huge coin but it is a luxury of riches there while a backrower goes down and they are extremely light

Gould seems to be on the nose recently. From a lofty height a few weeks ago. The 'Galvin thing' is leaving a bad after-taste and serves him right. You shouldn't get too big for your boots in rugby league. It's supposed to be the people's game.
Yeah absolutely, if you look at the comment section on videos, Six Tackles etc, he is copping it.

He won't care, one jot. He wants the Dogs to do well and everything else is fluff.

It was pretty lame last week, on his podcast (Six Tackles) they usually do a midweek podcast, which didn't happen due to Origin. They did it as a recap of Origin (fair enough), then did previews of the game, there was one line of mention of Lachlan Galvin in which the host, Matt Thompson, said 'has Galvin signed with the Dogs yet', Gould said 'no' and that was that.

Gould takes probably near-on millions from CH9 - but unfortunately they're too scared to say they want their pound of flesh from him in terms of insight and something more than ripping into Chammas for doing his job.

Easier for Mam to say it's because of the racism thing - conveniently ignoring no one booed him to this degree last year, or potentially even at all.

I'm glad they boo him. He looks like he hasn't learned a thing. Come in real cocksure about himself

Talk is Meninga deal is all but done in Perth, only sticking point being that they’ve told him he has to quit the Kangaroos job.
If he does accept Fittler being lined up for that position

@Beav - what do you make of the reports coming out about Tom and Jake?

Tom considering moving offshore rather than play against the club or jeopardise their ability to retain youngsters, and Jake potentially only being offered a 1yr 500k extn.

Turbo once again showing what a champion man he is, but that offer for Jake is insulting.

Surely neither of those things will actually happen?

If so I'm quite shocked as I thought Brad Arthur was a sure thing. He'd even, reportedly, bought a house over there. I have inside word remember, and I'm kind of dreading seeing that person again.
