I am ropable my tips have got off to such a bad start (not just head to head but Manly -5.5), they had no business losing that. It definitely hurt them when they had two second rowers in the centres for 20-odd minutes, but prior to Talau going off it was one way traffic, and they should have run away with it again once he came back on. They also bombed so many chances in the first half, could've been 30-0 up.

That kick 1min before halftime on the 3rd tackle from DCE had alarm bells ringing for me, absolutely atrocious option

I couldn’t believe the bunker sent Talau off for an HIA in that incident, he showed no signs at all of anything

O’Brien used his press conference to get stuck into Newcastle fans, declaring that those that booed at halftime have no idea about rugby league. That will get them on your side champ

Maguire apparently looking at dropping Selwyn Cobbo this week

David Fifita cleared by the Titans doctors to play, he is refusing saying he needs more time. Think that whole situation is about to get very untidy.

O'Brien might not know rugby league fans. The team's playing awful footy, stringing losses together, it's a wintry Thursday night, 16-0 (and should've been more) down at halftime, of course the home crowd's pissed-off.

With the other stuff - Broncos, Fifita, - it makes me think just how good the Warriors seem to be managed now. That's a nice surprise, but it didn't happen overnight. Or did it? Webster marked a big positive change, didn't he?

Mal Meninga officially announced as Bears coach

“This is bigger than me,” Meninga said.

“This new pioneering venture over to WA. The opportunity to be involved in the growth of the game over there. The opportunity to grow a club the Perth Bears over there is too good to refuse.

“I feel very honoured, very nervous, I think it is a huge responsibility. But I believe I am up for it.

“I am looking forward to working with Anthony and the rest of the rugby league community not only in WA but for the North Sydney Bears as well.

“I think that is a really important connection and bring them along on the journey as well, so I’m very humbled to be given this opportunity.
“This is bigger than me. It is about the game and the growth of the game in WA and I want to leave it in a good place.
“The foundations are going to be set in stone and when I move on the great club called the Perth Bears will hopefully be a success and move into the future.”

Well, last night, I felt like dropping an E and getting on my skateboard, in true Newcastle style.

I’m shocked at the treatment AOB gets, really good record
It's almost like the Gary Stead record, minus an actual premiership (Stead having won a WTC and 3-0 in India). And I reckon for similar reasons. Both are pretty boring bastards with no redeeming features, personality-wise.

But AOB is a pretty thick bugger if he thinks giving it to the fans is the way forward.

Fifita is the crazy girl who looks good but you know is going to make your life a living misery...but you consider it for the potential fireworks.

Any team who looks at him from here - because he's going to leave the Titans, the writing is on the wall - is desperate enough to deserve him.

The Perth Bears are bigger - more important - than Mal Meninga!

Thanks Mal.

40-2, Dolphins. Half an hour left!

It looks like you can draw a line through the Red V this year...

...and draw that line! The Dolphins have hit fifty. 56-6, final. Who would've picked it?
