"This is sensational stuff from Newcastle!" Voss.

It was sort of 'sensational' but they were still 20-18 down, and didn't score three tries in a row. I'm not being mean spirited but sometimes commentators get caught up in the moment.

Anyway, Penrith did enough, once again to get the two points. 26-18.

Leota had another one of those great attacking runs, this time only to set up a try. 'Bullocking' is a term especially made for him.

Interesting listen this morning catching up on Morning Glory with Matty Johns

Discussing Brandon Smith, Andrew Webster (journo version) and Matty both saying that off the field Smith is in a pretty bad way in his personal life. Webster said there are quite a few senior players that will be happy if they don’t have to play with Brandon again, and he has taken his option with the Chooks next year which is around 900k, but there is slim to no chance he will be there and Roosters will be happy to chip in money to move him

He is best mates with Cooper Johns, so Matty would know what a mess he is in off the park. Sounds like Sydney isn’t the place for him.

Smith always struck me as a 'larrikin', which often goes wrong.

Someone feel free to post an image of the ladder. I'm on my phone and it's too much hassle.

The ladder just goes to show that you can hsve a nice winning streak, like us and Souths, but you can still stay stuck in the mud.

Gee, is this Melbourne's year?

Had a laugh at one of the comments on an article about DWZs suspension

“He should have gotten man of the match, first tackle he has made all season”

Bugger that's unfortunate. So if he decides to leave Sydney, where does that leave him? Assume a return to Melbourne is unlikely, so which of of the others, or even us, would be willing to take a punt?

Raiders were offered up as a good landing spot. Still in Sydney but maybe Wayne could sort him out, but he shat on Wayne big time not long ago

I’d actually say we might be an option, he’s from Waiheke, not the South Auckland hood so coming closer to home might serve to keep him out of trouble. Hard to know really though without knowing what his personal networks in NZ are like.

The hood aint bad.... mostly :D

But yea, I wouldn't be opposed to Webby sounding him out. But only assuming he's willing to work on sorting his shit out, and also assuming he's willing to play as a middle who can cover hooker, not the other way around. Both seem like a bit of a long shot though tbh.

not sure I’d go near him either tbh, listen to the James Graham podcast which he is a regular on, have stopped listening when he is on but have tuned in today, Graham made a joke about making himself unavailable to play the Dogs and his response was “I didn’t even know we were playing the Dogs, thought it was the Tigers”.

Is a laugh, but he just comes across so unprofessional

Brandon Smith needs some support.

Andrew Webster has a good, caring nature and a players-first approach as a coach. The Warriors are based in Auckland, which is closer to home for Smith. It seems like a perfect match: if Webster can unlock Brandon's best, the Warriors will be a better team.

Positionally at least I think he’d be a good fit if he was prepared to play 13 and cover Egan when required. But I’d want to get him at a peice that reflects his current problems.

We just extended Egan.... why do the Warriors think they can fix all these players with personal issues. Couldnt fix Lodge, AFB reneged on his contract, Walsh "may" have told porkies to get home, and suddenly we think we can wave a wand over Smith and make him a model citizen?

some talk around the chooks tragics here that the Warriors are keen on Smith and that the chooks would potentially offload him and pay a chunk of his salary
Talk has been Roosters may be willing to chip in 400k to move him on

Mortal enemies so not sure how likely it would be to happen between the 2 clubs, but the Rabbits have let Damien Cook go to the Dragons today so a spot is open there. Euan Aitken looking like following Wayne as well
