NRL vs NFL

I've been learning/following NFL since Hayne went to America too. I've come to appreciate it. Still, I can't deal with the stoppages. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the "platoon" system either.

NFL is better

But I can see why Australians wouldn't like it - it requires them to think, rather than the bashing and barge simple nature of League. League easier for the working class man (average or below intelligence) to understand, so American Football would confuse them, and make them go into a Tall Poppy Syndrome rant about how much they hate Americans, despite knowing full well that the U.S. Is superior to us in everyway

Can't understand why someone growing up in Merrylands for example would rather follow Rugby League and the Parramatta Eels, than the NFL and say the Detroit Lions or Chicago Bears. That amazing feeling of watching the team that you love win, despite having never travelled within 7000km of must be unbelievable. Have to agree with you though, those Americans are really smart. The dumbest American would still be smarter than God-King Dean.

The only thing the NFL has over the NRL is the quality and timing of highlights.

Another thing they have is the crowds. They get like 100k crowds to college football games. It's ridiculous. A game of marbles would be exciting if that many people were in the arena.

I like following Hayne and wish him success but NFL/American Football is by and large rubbish, as with all American sports. 30 seconds of plays followed by a break. Rinse and repeat. No flow, no continuation. Games drag out to no end with all the ads, timeouts, etc.

The amount of fluff and unnecessary technical jargon they use for what the rest of the world keeps much simpler is ridiculous also. No, you don't need to be a rocket scientist with a PhD to understand the game - it's like the clowns who think they're intelligent because they're avid watchers of The Big Bang Theory.

With the way it presents itself it doesn't feel like a sport to me. Far too gimmicky, too commercialised, too cheesy. As if it's some type of simulation and not reality, a staged show if you will. We can learn a lot of thing about how they run their game but f**k I'd hate it if we were to become them.

300 million population vs 30 million. It's not surprising really, here in NZ we can easily get a few K watching a school first XV game.

Anyone trying to pretend they are more intelligent than thou because the prefer 11 minutes of play in four hour game is f**king dope.

Both games are pretty good, but you would appreciate each for different reasons. If I had to pick one it would be NRL, but I don't so it's both.

Half the time at college football games the student ends empty out because they are so drunk after four hours and get BORED.

You do realise that 95% of universities in the US don't allow drinking in the games, and most students aren't legal anyway? There is a thing called tailgating, where people drink for hours on end before the game starts in the parking lots.

NRL wishes they could get the crowds NFL / college football could get. Universities still get 35-40k crowds even if their team sucks and is in a low ranked division.

Alabama's stadium holds like 105k and they sell out every game, they make more in a single game than most NRL teams would make in a year.

 Look at this self loathing garbage. I honestly wonder if we would be getting this rot from Dean in September if the Dragons weren't looking more and more like road kill waiting to be splattered on the dash every day.

It's easy to start thinking about the NRL as insignificant or for weaker minded people compared to other sports when the club you naturally support is on their way to mad monday in a hurry and you've already switched off and changed over to the other sport which is just getting started. Take your jaded shit elsewhere and come back in February next year like we all know you will anyway with a better attitude because those of us who still have a team to support playing footy right now don't want or need to hear it.

I am watching Hayne's progress and happy to see him giving it one hell of a go.

When it comes to NFL as a spectator sport I once explained it to my Son as a story book sport.

They read the story for a while and then stop to look at the pictures for a while, then on with the story. Repeat.

Your logic that I'm only belittling NRL because Dragons suck is flawed, considering I'm a Detroit fan....

Look, it's not my fault you don't have the high intelligence required to enjoy Anmricsn Football, along with most below intelligence working class people. Uncultured, basically.

League is.... Well.... Dumb.

They don't even wear helmets for Chirsts sake. And of course all the uneducated bogans are up in tattoo'd arms, spittle throthing out of their gapped teeth, screaming 'bring back da shoulder charge!'

If only we had more school shootings and gun crime, maybe then, one day, we could be more like the superior US.

Its actually quite amusing that dean considers himself 'intelligent' and 'cultured' because he watches NFL
